My hero series ‘Wings of Desire’ with my ‘beautiful one’ my dearest best friend in the world who gave so much to so many Helen McCrory OBE will be featured in my book with donations to The McCrory Award
We shot this back in 2017, the story is based on many young people we work with having the wings to fly and create , yet coming from marginalised and disadvantaged backgrounds do not get the opportunities to access the arts. This is why exist- to make the difference to all of our young people - the birds and the swan ( taxidermy ) represent beautiful creativity yet suppressed and feeling dead inside - the peacocks represent the work we do as our young swans and birds evolve into creative and confident individuals - this is the power of the arts and this is why Helen and I worked together to make this possible - every child and young person should have access to the arts !
I am planning our next exhibition in honour of Helen in which all donations and 100% of sales will go directly to the charity for Helen’s legacy ‘The McCrory Award ‘ which supports young artists for bursary’s , resources and one to one mentoring!
