“He’s probably met every bird in town”

I met Dan and his 5 year-old Boston Terrier, Bishop 🤍

Dan told me that when Bishop was a puppy, they could barely walk anywhere without girls stopping to give him some fuss!

He said how dogs are all about having fun, enjoying a good meal, and ending the day with cuddles, and if us humans lived a little more like that, we’d probably all love very happy lives 😊

He also told me how Bishop sometimes seems to know exactly what him and his wife are talking about… although he knows non-dog owners probably think he’s crazy 😂

This Turkish street dog came walking over to say hello, looking for nothing more than a little fuss and attention 🧡

I gave him some food, and you could tell how much he appreciated it. After spending a few minutes together, he followed me for a little while until he spotted another dog who must’ve been his friend, and off he went running to join them.

Sadly, many street dogs in Turkey are currently at risk. They’re being taken off the streets, but there simply isn’t enough space in shelters, and not enough dogs are being adopted 💔

I couldn’t just walk past this street dog 🥹🇹🇷

I spotted this beautiful street dog down a quiet backstreet in Turkey as I was walking back to my rental car. The moment I approached, her tail started wagging. She was so happy to say hello, enjoy some fuss, and tuck into a little food.

I spoke to some local people in the vets nearby afterwards, and they told me they’d named her Ayıcık, which translates to “Teddy Bear” in English 🧸 I couldn’t think of a more fitting name 💛

He wears a muzzle because he has to, not because he needs to

I met Alan and his lovely rescue XL Bully, Monty.

Monty was born with a deformed eye, and Alan believes that’s why he may have been abandoned 😔

Alan told me how the muzzle atomically makes him look aggressive and people may assume the worst about him, but he only wears it because he has to.

It’s also made socialising with other dogs much harder, so every week Alan takes Monty to a class filled with other dogs, where he gets the chance to make friends and build his confidence 💙

It’s never “just a dog”

Ad/ I met Tom and his rescue cocker spaniel, Luna 💙

Tom had recently lost his old dog, who had been by his side for 15 years. The heartbreak hit so hard that he promised himself he’d never go through it again.

However, when he got a phone call about a dog that had been found running stray, he couldn’t say no.

Since then, Luna has become his best friend and companion 🐶🧡

Tom told me that after losing his previous dog, the thing he missed most was coming home and hearing the sound of paws scratching against the inside of the front door 🥹

Luna was such a chilled girl when I met her… although that calmness disappeared pretty quickly when the Tails.com treats came out 😅 I’m sure she’ll be enjoying plenty more when they’re off on their holiday together 😊
