The A&A team is expanding…

Our brother Olly has officially joined us on film.

We’ve lost count of how many times we’re asked if we also shoot on film. Maybe it’s a desire to slow things down these days. To capture moments the analogue way, creating nostalgic images that feel a little more real.

Whilst we always take extra cameras with us to a job, juggling both film and digital on a wedding day is no mean feat.

Then last year we had a brainwave…

Olly has always loved film photography, but until now hasn’t had much of a look-in on his sisters’ business (other than helping us behind the scenes!)

So this summer, we finally put him behind the lens.

And, as expected, it’s been amazing. We instinctively know how each other works, and we love the completely different perspective he brings to a day. His work is beautiful and raw and, most importantly, he loves it.

We’ve photographed weddings in some extraordinary places, but this forest stopped us in our tracks.

Hidden away at Cabilla Cornwall Cabilla Cornwall, surrounded by ancient oaks in one of the UK’s rare temperate rainforests, it was an utterly magical setting for a wedding.

Scroll to the end for some peace on the banks of the River Bedalder, meaning ‘sweet water’ in Cornish. And it really is just that — so clear and pure, you can drink straight from it.

It felt wild and ancient, as though the trees were listening and giving their blessing. And for two such soulful people, we can’t imagine a more perfect place to have said their vows.

The day began with a walk through the forest with Merlin Hanbury-Tenison, whose work restoring Cabilla and protecting Britain’s ancient rainforests made us see this landscape with even more awe.

A day that will never be forgotten 🤍

We always find ourselves gravitating towards the flower girls and page boys.

Perfectly put together at the beginning of the day, and a few hours later, the shoes are off, ribbons have come loose, dresses are grass-stained and they’re running around lost in the fun of it all.

You never quite know what they’re going to do next, and they’re wonderfully oblivious to the camera.

All that mischief, movement and joy. Fleeting moments, gone almost as quickly as they happen, and just the ones we’re looking for 🤍

Friday was a very special one for Ella May and Hughie’s wedding Ella May London 🪡💕

Photographing the wedding of one of our favourite people in the industry, and someone with such an incredible eye, was a huge honour. It was every bit as joyful and gorgeous as you’d expect.

We also felt so lucky working alongside the brilliant Films by Katharine Abel Smith and Alice Fane

It’s always such a bonus working with people who are unbelievably good at what they do, and the very best feeling when everything just clicks.

Located in the heart of the Cape winelands, Babylonstoren is one of the most extraordinary places to stay in South Africa. A historic Cape Dutch farm dating back to 1692 is now also a luxury hotel where everything moves to the rhythm of the garden and the changing seasons.

At its heart lies an extraordinary garden overflowing with fruit trees, vegetables, herbs and flowers, all designed to exist in harmony with nature.

As a photographer, it felt like the best kind of playground, full of light, colour and texture at every turn. But even more than that, it’s a place that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the world around you. Not sure I ever wanted to leave! 🌾✨
