The temptation has succumbed me and I have finally given a chance to digitise with a DSLR camera! 📷 🎞️⁠⁠
⁠⁠
☝️🙂 My idea was to start with the things I had at hand and without having to invest my liver in negative holders so has come to my rescue⁠!⁠
⁠⁠
I have been testing 's negative holder for a few days and I can guarantee that I was pleasantly surprised. You can make 3 different film formats just by moving the pieces around, it's portable and super affordable (yassss 😎)⁠⁠
⁠⁠
The only downside is that it doesn't have any wheels to help you advance the film but that's not a major inconvenience either 🤷‍♀️⁠⁠

Totally recommendable for those who want to get started in this journey 🙂⁠⁠

☝️🙂 Mi idea era empezar con las cosas que tenia a mano y sin tener que invertir mi hígado en negative holders así que vino a mi rescate. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
He estado probado el negative holder de durante estos últimos días y os puedo garantizar que me ha sorprendido gratamente. Puedes hacer 3 formatos de película diferentes con solo mover las piezas, es portátil y super asequible. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
La única pega es que no tiene ninguna ruedecita que ayude al avance de la película pero tampoco no es mayor inconveniencia. Desde luego que totalmente recomendable para quien quiera iniciarse en esto. ⁠⁠

🚨UPDATES: 🌱New Sustainable Photo Lab + 🎞️ 1:1 Mentorship⁠⁠
⁠⁠
You may already be aware of this, but I’ve just embarked on a beautiful project of setting up a 🌱sustainable 🎞️ Photo Lab from scratch!⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Thanks to the experience of having worked for more than 7 years in different labs around the world, it has made me realise of certain unsustainable practices that unfortunately happen within them. 😥⁠⁠
⁠⁠
I could tell you many horrible stories but to mention just a few: irresponsibly throwing chemicals down the drain, throwing away piles of disposable cameras, film pots, 120 spools along with normal rubbish, sending films to the costumer wrapped in an absurd amount of plastic... in short, a disaster! 🤯⁠⁠
⁠⁠
☝️🙂 That is why I personally have felt a strong mission to do something about it and to come up with a way in which the impact can be reduced as much as possible from start to finish. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
I will not deny that there are still many unknowns that remain to be solved. Honestly, there are many aspects in which I lack a lot of information and I still don't know how to fix them. However, what I do know for sure is that I will do everything in my power to reduce the environmental impact in every part of the process 🌱⁠⁠

THE FEMALE GAZE in photography: How women photograph women?🤔⁠⁠

Photographs taken by women do not only exist as a counterpoint to the male narrative. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
They can be a way to understand identity, femininity sexuality, beauty and bodies. They can be a tool for challenging perception in the media, human rights, politics, economy, ecology and to contribute to a broader understanding of society. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
We have not yet begun to understand the magnitude of what the female gaze may be, but we are slowly starting to grasp what it could be. 😌💜⁠⁠

🎞️Kodak Pro Image 100 is saving my summer 😂⁠⁠

For those of you who already know me, you may know that I am an inveterate lover of Kodak Color Plus film. ⁠⁠
However, unfortunately Mr. Kodak seems to be having some production problems ☹️☹️☹️☹️

So, I took the plunge and gave the film another chance and once again I was pleasantly surprised 😌💛⁠⁠

🎞️🌿 Home Made Developer with Basil 🌿 | TEST 001⁠

Thanks to the inspiration of Andres Pardo from , I've really delved into the world of plant-based developers. ⁠🎞️🌿⁠
⁠
This first experiment I did it totally blind. I totally improvised the extraction of phenols from basil and took as a reference the amounts of sodium carbonate and vitamin C from a Caffenol recipe.⁠
⁠
☝️🙂After this attempt I draw two conclusions:⁠
⁠
1- I have to do more research on how to extract the phenols better.⁠
⁠
2- I have to give more time to the development. ⁠
⁠
PS: I've done more and more experiments with the basil developer so I will share with you my conclusions and my mistakes pretty soon 🙂⁠

Gracias a la inspiración de Andrés Pardo de , me he adentrado de lleno en el mundo del revelado de películas de BW a base de plantas. ⁠
⁠
Este primer experimento fue totalmente a ciegas. Improvisé totalmente la extracción de fenoles de la albahaca y tomé como referencia las cantidades de Carbonato de sodio y de Vitamina C de una receta de Caffenol.⁠
⁠
☝️🙂 Tras este intento s**o dos conclusiones:⁠
⁠
1- Tengo que investigar más sobre cómo extraer mejor los fenoles.⁠
⁠
2- Tengo que darle más tiempo al revelado. ⁠
⁠
PS: He hecho más y más experimentos así que os iré compartiendo mis conclusiones y mis cagadas mu' pronto. 🙂⁠

I can't wait to live in a time when the names of pioneering women photographers such as Olive Edis, Charlotte Rudolph, Tina Modotti, Belle Johnson, Wanda Wulz, Luci Moholy... (and the list goes on)are mentioned more often.⁠
