Goodbye Summer

Just me, a camera, and this beautiful person I’d recently met , Danielle.

Golden hour wrapping her hair in light, blue eyes catching the sun, that playful, mischievous energy that makes you forget time exists.

We laughed, moved, talked about nothing and everything. It felt simple, honest. The kind of moment that reminds you why you love shooting.

Summer’s gone now. I hope you enjoyed it too. Time is fragile, it slips fast. Notice the little things — that’s where the magic hides.

How can you not love a last-minute adventure?
I was on holiday in Brazil with just a bit of gear and a few rolls of expired film in my bag. Rebeca tipped me off about Clara, an incredible model, and this dreamy beach house. The moment I saw Clara’s profile, I didn’t think twice. I grabbed my Leica M6, packed the Pentax 67, and drove two hours from Fortaleza to shoot this set. Can’t believe how fast time goes.

Danny Cannes

Cannes Festival, no team, no plan—just Danny (a Ukrainian model I met that week), the beach, and a camera.

We shot this in one take, no stylist, no makeup—just light, instinct, and expression in 30 min.

He surprised me. His energy was raw, theatrical, tender. Every frame felt alive—running, laughing, lost in movement.
It reminded me: direction is overrated. Trust your feelings. They’re almost always right.

Taj Mahal, circa 2019

Sometimes the most unforgettable moments come from chaos. This shot of my girlfriend dancing at the gates of the Taj Mahal took a lot to create—12 hours on a train, a 4 a.m. wake-up call, and a sea of tourists. In a moment of panic, I convinced the crowd I was with National Geographic (yep, I really said that 🙈), and they helped hold the frame. The result? A picture worth every challenge. Proud of this one 🩵✨

Teenagers, alcohol, ci******es and stimulants.

In the mid-90 s, Icelandic teenagers were among the biggest drinkers and smokers in Europe.

Today, Iceland is top of the European countries where the lifestyle of teenagers (13-year-olds) is the healthiest!

How has this evolution been done?

Icelandic scientists have tried to discover the biochemical process that causes addiction.
Harvey Milkman, American Professor of Psychology, now lecturer at Reykjavik University, has come to the conclusion that choosing the type of alcohol or drug depends on how the human body is used to dealing with stress.
Turned out there are many different chemicals that cause biochemical process in the brain, whose body then becomes dependent.
Scientists then looked for actions that stimulate the same process in the brain.
According to Milkman:
′′ You may be dependent on to***co, alcohol, coca-cola, energy drinks and some foods....
We decided to offer teenagers something better.
We found that dance, music, drawing or sport also caused biochemical process in the brain that made everything possible, but was also a harmless solution to stress, and that in terms of emotional effect, these actions should have the same effect on teenagers as stimulants, alcohol or to***co.

From there we offered them free masterclass programs in any sport or art they would like to study. Overtime, three times a week, has been specifically funded by the state.
Every teenager was asked to participate in the program for three months... but finally, many of them continued these programs for more than five years. ′′

To solve adolescent ni****ne and alcohol dependence problems, authorities also had to amend the law. Iceland has banned advertising for ci******es and alcoholic beverages and has created special organizations for parents who, in collaboration with the school, help students solve their psychological problems.

Because of this, Iceland has managed to reduce the number of teenagers for the past 20 years
who regularly drink from 48 % to 5 %,
and those who smoke 23 % to 3 %.

Icelandic scientists suggest using similar methods in other countries.

The question is:
who will allow this to happen?
This will be a huge loss for multinationals. They have no interest in adolescents becoming self-conscious and avoiding the path of dependence on alcohol, ci******es and human stimulants until they die.
They want users.

Nevertheless, we can all become hummingbirds of Education of the Future... and do our part to make things evolve.

The International Future Education Summit
will be the great gathering of the world's hummingbirds.

Deeply inspiring, positive and dynamic voices
will rise on the internet from April 20 to 30, 2022.
