Canon UK’s latest camera, the EOS C50, builds on their already fantastic series of Cinema EOS cameras!

It offers a great blend of image quality and performance in a compact form factor jam packed with video and photography features.

Another fantastic workshop wrapped!
Last week at our London Fitzrovia showroom, we hosted the two-day Tiffen Fly Steadicam Bronze workshop, designed to give beginners a fast-track introduction to professional Steadicam operation.

Led by the brilliant instructor Danny Hallett and CVP’s Kit Bessant, attendees got practical hands-on experience with Tiffen and Axis rigs, learning everything from balancing to walking the line drills and tracking exercises to hone their skills.

Whether totally new to the system or building on-set experience, everyone brought focus, creativity, and energy. Huge progress in just two days!

Thanks to everyone who joined us and congrats to our new Bronze-level operators!

have just launched their latest camera, the ALEXA 35 Xtreme.

This new camera builds on the existing ALEXA 35 platform but thanks to some brand new hardware, it has some pretty serious upgrades and improvements:

- Improved High Frame Rates
• 4.6K Open Gate - 120 fps
• 3.8K 16:9 - 150 fps
• 3.8K 2.39:1 - 240 fps (New Format)
• 2K 16:9 S16 - 330 fps

- New, Sensor Overdrive Mode
• Unlocks even higher frame rates including 2K 16:9 S16 up to 660 fps
• Faster sensor readout times
• 11+ stops of dynamic range
• Base EI changes to 1600

New, ARRICORE Codec
• New compressed RGB codec
• EI & White Balance post control
• High image quality
• Roughly half the data rate of ARRIRAW

- Streamlined recording formats

- 5x longer pre-recording

- 10% lower power consumption - Improved cooling

- Improved Wi-Fi

🎥 As a replacement to the original ALEXA 35, the ALEXA 35 Xtreme will have the same pricing structure and is available to order now. Existing ALEXA 35 owners will have a paid option to upgrade their camera to an Xtreme. This is a very in-depth hardware upgrade that requires an ARRI service centre.

A look back at the ARRI hands-on Ensō testing day at CVP Fitzrovia .

A couple of weeks ago, we opened the doors of the CVP Fitzrovia showroom to filmmakers, creators, and lens techs to get hands-on with the Ensō Prime Lenses — a relatively new set of glass gaining popularity for their incredible close focus, compact size and beautiful natural image that can be tuned with the Ensō vintage elements.

🎥🟥 We sat down with .man.dere, winners of last year’s Stories in Motion short film competition.

Their stunning short film, Rebirth, won the Fictional Short category, which takes viewers on ‘a cinematic journey through grief, community, and resilience in Black British history’.
The film has gone on to win the BFI Future Film Festival’s best experimental film, and the guys are going from strength to strength, working on some exciting upcoming projects. Hear about their experience of the competition and their advice for this years’ entrants.

We’re also delighted to welcome them back to this year’s Stories in Motion awards evening this April - alongside other key industry players - where shortlisters will get to network and see their film on the big screen.

has just announced the ALEXA 35 with Base license version! This new camera shares the same hardware as the original 35, but has some restricted features to allow it to hit its lower price. You can tell these cameras apart by the Base model having this new blue jog wheel.

These are the core things removed from the camera:
- First off you have a max frame rate of 60, whereas the premium license can go up to 120.
- The Base can only shoot ProRes, whereas the Premium can shoot ProRes and uncompressed ARRIRAW.
- The base models formats will be limited to 16:9 and 2:1 spherical formats, whereas the premium model has a bunch of open gate and anamorphic formats.
- The base will also not have pre-record and restricted look features like ARRI Textures and custom colour management.

If you want to use these features you can buy them as a permanent or temporary licenses, and if you buy the license for a base to turn it into a premium the cost of buying a regular ALEXA 35, will be the same. It’s available to pre-order now, link to which is in our bio!
