When you first start looking for your wedding photographer, you probably have some idea of the style you love. Maybe you’ve scrolled Pinterest, maybe you’ve seen your friends’ wedding albums and thought: that’s stunning… and that’s… not for me. (Cue the polite eyebrow raise).
And then comes the budget talk. What’s reasonable? What’s “standard”? Why does one quote make your jaw drop while another makes you wonder if they’ll even show up on the day? Suddenly your brain is fried. You step away muttering, “We’ll come back to this when our heads aren’t exploding.”

✨ You want someone you actually LIKE. Because unlike most of your suppliers, your photo + video team don’t pack up when the cake is gone. They’re with you through the day, and long after, delivering the memories you’ll relive for years.
✨ You want someone with HEART. Not just capturing the aisle walk or the confetti shot, but the little things: kids sneaking cake, your parents’ quiet tears, the details you poured your energy (and budget!) into. Someone who feels it all with you.
✨ You want someone who doesn’t show up alone, but comes with a team — people who work seamlessly together, capturing moments from every angle so you don’t miss a thing.
✨ You want someone who keeps your mind at ease. From the lead-up, to the day itself, to the security of your images after it’s all over.
✨ And honestly? You want someone who can work well with other suppliers — the planner, the band, the florist, and knows the industry. You never know when you may need a last-minute favour.
And definitely.. you do want someone who creates magic with their camera.
