Hyllus diardi uses its retreat as a resting palce when inactive. The jumping spider often return to its shelter after hunting and may sped hours inside it. The retreat also plays an important role during molting and various stages of its development.

How do I get over my fear of her? This is Cosette. She's a juvenile and I've had her since May. She molted and came out bigger. I wasn't scared when she was smaller but she landed on my hand yesterday and I freaked out and automatically dropped her, luckily into her enclosure. Now she's been running away from me and when she got close I had a mini panic attack. I love her. I take very good care of her. How can I get over my insect phobia? 😔💔

My dream has come true! I found jumping spider and I want to keep him and love him and name him George. I’m getting an enclosure tomorrow. Any advise on caring for my very first spider is greatly appreciated.

My Luna is dying today. I’ve only had her for about 3 weeks, found her on our fence and brought her in and gave her a beautiful enclosure, food, and water. My daughter and I have grown to love her and enjoy her crawling on our hands and arms, but she started refusing food, being less active, and she has stayed in the bottom of her enclosure the last 4 days. She has been curled up like this with barely any movement all morning.
