Almost one year ago, Flying Scotsman had the honour of reopening the northern section of the Severn Valley Railway following the landslip. 🚂💚

I was lucky enough to be there to witness this historic occasion. Swipe to the second photo to see the special commemorative headboard carried on the first train through to Bridgnorth.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost twelve months already. Watching the full line reopen was a truly memorable moment, and one I’m very glad to have experienced.

Who else was there to witness this special day? 👀

One of my favourite locomotives from the Severn Valley Railway ❤️🚂

It’s difficult to hear about the recent incident involving 4930 Hagley Hall.

Thankfully, everyone involved is reported to be safe, which is by far the most important thing.

Here’s one of my favourite photographs of Hagley Hall from the Spring Steam Gala earlier this year, seen heading towards Bewdley.

The railway has confirmed that repairs will begin once the full extent of the damage is known. Wishing everyone at the Severn Valley Railway all the very best, and hoping to see 4930 back where she belongs in the future. 💚

Summer main line steam at its finest. ☀️🚂

7029 Clun Castle powers north with the Cathedrals Express from Birmingham New Street to Liverpool, passing through the Staffordshire countryside under clear blue skies.

Sometimes it isn’t just about the steam or the speed… it’s about seeing a Castle Class doing exactly what it was built for.

Who managed to catch Clun Castle on this run last week? 👀🔥

A little Severn Valley Railway appreciation… 🚂☀️

GWR 813 departs Eardington as it heads for Bridgnorth during the Spring Steam Gala earlier this year.

With the SVR Summer Gala just around the corner, here’s a look back at one of my favourite heritage railway moments of 2026 so far. 📸🔥

Who’s heading to the Valley this weekend? 👀🚂

A summer run to Liverpool. 🚂📸

7029 Clun Castle heads north between Stafford and Crewe as it works the Cathedrals Express, running from Birmingham New Street to Liverpool for Vintage Trains Ltd

After stepping in to haul its first train of the year last weekend, it was fantastic to see Clun Castle back out on the main line once again, making for another memorable summer morning.

Who else is out to see the Cathedrals Express today? 👀🔥

An unexpected appearance… 🚂📸

After a late change in motive power, 7029 Clun Castle takes charge of The White Rose, working from Birmingham New Street to Scarborough as it passes through Sherburn-in-Elmet for Vintage Trains Ltd

Originally scheduled to be hauled by Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, it was Clun Castle that stepped in to work its first train of the year, making for a memorable sight on a summer afternoon.

Who else was out to see The White Rose? 👀🔥

Main line steam through Yorkshire. 🚂📸

34067 Tangmere heads north just outside York as it works The Tynesider from London King’s Cross to Morpeth for The Railway Touring Company .

There’s always something special about seeing steam on the East Coast Main Line, and Tangmere looked right at home as it powered towards the North East.

Who else is out to see The Tynesider today? 👀🔥

One whistle. One unforgettable weekend. 🚂📸

60163 Tornado passes Asher Lane level crossing before announcing its arrival through Ruddington during another fantastic Fox & Edwards Events events weekend at Great Central Railway (Nottingham).

Even in the summer heat, seeing Tornado back where it belongs was something special. Moments like these are exactly why days spent trackside never get old.

Who else was there to witness Tornado this weekend? 👀🔥
