Today is International Mountain Day - I love mountains, I have been lucky to have travelled around the world & photographed some of the most beautiful mountains including Snowdonia in North Wales, Matterhorn in Zermatt Switzerland, Glen Coe in Scotland, Mt Kailas in the Himalayas, etc. My most favourite is ofcourse The Holy Mount Kailas, selfie here on the Ashtapad side (very Holy for Budhists, Chinese, Hindus and specially Jains) taken during Pujya Morari Bapu's Ram Katha no. 700.
The Chaupai from Ramcharitmanas states:
“Param ramya girivar kailāsu |
sadā janhā shiv umā nivāsu ||”
परम रम्य गिरिवर कैलासु |
सदा जहाँ शिव उमा निवासु ||
Meaning:
“Of all mountains the most charming and the best is kailasa,
Where Shiva and Uma eternally dwell.” Jai Siya Ram 🙏😇
