Shelly Beach in a heatwave, Friday the final day.
I arrived a few minutes after high water, although the tidal range is just coming off neaps, initially the water depth was too great for me to wade in. Eventually I was able to position myself to make the most of the calm conditions without being compromised too much by the things along the shoreline which I felt were distractions. This viewpoint was chosen to get fairly even spacing between the 3 boats on LHS. The middle one lists to Starboard and thus a first glance it looks like the verticals haven't been corrected. There's a radiant fan that's just visible from the sun up into the clouds. I've left it natural at the moment, but will consider seeing whether its enhancement is beneficial.
The stage lights were still on at Powderham from last night's entertainment -Teddy Swims, and in the morning, Baxter paddles.... Something that looked so small was certainly making a big sonic impact, muffled but audible all evening at my house about 1 ½ miles from Shelly.
I've chosen the more colourful sunrise individual shots to post each day, but quite a few of my favourites are more subtle. Cooler weather coming next week, so more amenable to sitting at a computer. I'll post a collection then.

Continuing the Shelly Beach sunrise in a heatwave mini-series.

This morning's sunrise was a gentle affair, no mist, but the higher state of the ebbing tide enabled me to explore using the mini banks of shingle and pools of water retained by them.
I chose not to go out yesterday morning on account of the sky being devoid of clouds and so I felt I wouldn't be adding anything worthwhile.

Misty heatwave sunrise - Shelly Beach
Third consecutive morning at the same location. Each dawn has been decidedly different.
It took an age for the sun to clear the hills inland, but it wasn't exactly a hardship at 20˚C. The territorial seagulls once again were flying their ineffective combat air patrols out and back from the flats whilst doing lots of squawking at me. The person with the power-assisted radio controlled glider at the Imperial Rec seemed to be getting some good flights with it.
Up the estuary was misty, Lympstone not visible.

Sunday Summer solstice - Shelly Beach
Whilst the main beach was a hive of activity with swimmers and yoga, I had this one all to myself.
