Dragonflies are among the oldest winged insects on Earth, with an evolutionary lineage dating back roughly 300 million years—predating dinosaurs by over 100 million years. Individual lifespans span 1 to 8 weeks as adults, though they spend up to 5 years developing underwater in their larval nymph stage

That’s why it’s a privilege to even see one never mind photograph one !
