Day 6 (final) of sharing some of my portraits for the Dyfi Coastal Adaptation Handbook

Introducing the formidable Caroline Stockford a poet / translator / author & all round amazing human.
We managed to create a nice set of images in a very short space of time. Deciding to shoot with lights and no assistant on a Welsh beach in November. We got away with it… just. I’m pleased with the end result but more importantly so was Caroline !
Check out Caroline’s story in the handbook

Day 5 of sharing some of my portraits from the Dyfi Coastal Adaptation Handbook

Introducing the wonderful Jill Hulse a resident of Ynyslas & prominent member of the Borth Coastal Defence Project. Oh & not to forget Ruby the dog who I think was roughly 200 years old! 🐶

Day 4 of sharing some of my portraits from The Dyfi Costal Adaptation Handbook

Introducing the wonderful Eluned Besent who’s family run a stunning dairy farm overlooking the Dyfi estuary. Hats off to Eluned for being a good sport & humouring me for 5 minutes whilst we captured this portrait during some crazy epic November weather.

Day 3: Introducing Geraint Jenkins a local organic milk farmer who along with his family helps run an amazing local Organic Milk Company
Possibly the best milkshakes you’ll ever taste.
Trying to capture a strong genuine portrait is always a challenge when working with regular folk. So adding a bonkers dog & a herd of stubborn cows into the mix & you have yourself an interesting challenge!
It turns out Welsh Blacks are quite stubborn & intimidating beasts up close 😂 For reasons only this 1 cow knows she locked eyes on me for about 5 seconds & I knew I had the picture.
Check out Geraint’s story in the handbook

Day 2 of sharing some of my portraits from the handbook

Meet the Legend that is Charlie Bartlett (73). Captain of the last charter boat left sailing off the Dyfi coast. Charlie is also a member of Helping to monitor the activities of in our waters. A shark I honestly had never heard of before 😬 Half shark / Half Ray if you’re wondering!
Check out Charlie’s story inside The Dyfi Coastal Adaptation Handbook created by &

Day 1 of sharing my portraits for the handbook

Introducing the wonderful Bronwen & Flo, 2 life long friends and residents of Aberdyfi with a combined age of 184 years
A special mention must be made to Bronwens husband Stan Hugil who was an incredible artist. The large painting hanging on the wall behind them was created by Stan during his time in a prisoner of war camp during World War 2. It was painted on a bed sheet!
You can read Bronwen & Flo’s story inside the Dyfi coastal adaptation hand book.
