Hi everyone.

I’m a local hypnobirthing teacher & doula based near Maldon/Tiptree and I wanted to share something a lot of people don’t realise…

Hypnobirthing isn’t about having a “perfect” birth or avoiding pain relief and it’s definitely not about being hypnotised or out of control.

It’s actually about understanding what your body is doing in labour,
so you can work with it instead of fighting it.”

It’s about:
• understanding what your body is doing
• reducing fear (which actually affects labour more than people think)
• helping partners feel useful instead of helpless
• staying calmer even if things don’t go to plan

I run small, relaxed sessions locally (no awkward group sharing, I promise 😅) and I’m offering a free taster session for anyone due this summer/autumn.

No pressure to book anything—just a chance to see if it’s for you.

If you’re curious or have questions, feel free to comment or message me 🤍

Happy Mothering Sunday to all the mamas out there. Every single one of you are amazing.
Today I’ve taken extra time to remember all the mamas I’ve met that didn’t get to take their babies home and don’t get to celebrate this day with them 🤍

Losing a baby can be an unbelievably painful and traumatic experience.

That’s why parents who have lost a baby before 24 weeks of pregnancy in England can now apply for an official baby loss certificate.

This is a voluntary service we’re introducing as part of the and to support grieving parents and acknowledge their pain.

It’s not very common that I get to meet couples before they announce they’re pregnant. But, if I could give one piece of advice, it would be to NOT tell people their Estimated Due Date!!
Why?
Well, because if you are still pregnant by this date I can guarantee you’ll have a 100 messages that day asking if there is any sign of the baby. Not particularly oxytocin inducing.
Instead, why don’t you tell people your birth month, or that baby is expected between x day and x day?! It just takes that unconscious pressure off you both and a flurry of messages around that day.

Placenta encapsulation is a practice where the placenta, which is the temporary organ that nourishes a developing fetus during pregnancy, is processed, dehydrated, and encapsulated into pill form for consumption by the birthing parent. The idea behind this practice is that consuming placenta pills may offer various potential benefits, although scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited. Some of the proposed benefits include:

1. **Hormone Regulation:** Advocates suggest that placenta encapsulation may help regulate postpartum hormones, reduce the risk of postpartum depression, and improve mood.

2. **Increased Energy:** Some believe that consuming placenta pills can increase energy levels and combat postpartum fatigue.

3. **Enhanced Breast Milk Production:** It’s claimed that placenta consumption can boost breast milk supply.

4. **Nutrient Replenishment:** The placenta is rich in nutrients like iron, protein, and certain hormones, which proponents argue can aid in postpartum recovery.

If you’re considering placenta encapsulation, it’s crucial to consult with a healthcare provider and thoroughly research the topic to make an informed decision based on your individual circumstances and preferences.
