Been away for a while, creating, in the background. I have had a few films developed since so for a while there will be a drip feed of stuff shot on 35mm... starting with this. There's no meaning behind it, I just liked the shot. Shot on Kodak Gold 200.

Canada Geese seemingly practicing ballet, taken in early 2021. They are all standing on a frozen section of lake and I think they raise one leg to control their body temperature.

Here's another photo of Blackpool tower, taken from Rivington, England this time on an exceptionally clear evening. The tower is 25 miles from where I stood, and the land mass behind (the Isle of Man) is around 90 miles away.

The photo is from 2021 and processing it was a labour of love, mainly in trying to maintain the quality and sharpness with the fairly extreme crop. If I had more megapixels the image would still be as sharp, as conditions were truly excellent that evening. As far as what my eye saw that evening, this is a pretty accurate representation.

I have tried since to recreate this but have never yet encountered such perfect conditions - while it is sometimes as clear as this, the air has never been as stable, usually resulting in a fuzzy tower or shots where it looks wonky/bent. Physics is a fascinating thing.

Two Drake Pochard ducks on a local lake near me, first time seeing and photographing so was delighted to get two. Was only missing a female. The clear patch behind is actually ice, they were behind it, dove underwater and then popped up in front. The light was 👌🏻

A shot of Blackpool and the Fylde Coast from Ainsdale Beach, Merseyside. Visibility wasn't great so there is just a glimpse of snow covered hills in Cumbria. The pinkish glow in the sky is the belt of venus, in short the boundary between lit sky and the earth's shadow, on the opposite side of the sky to the rising or setting sun.

! Always nice to see these, they are an Auk similar in size to Puffins. When they open their beaks the monochromatic nature of their plumage is beautifully accentuated by the yellow mouth. Realistically it's less than 6 months now until these can be seen again at various British coasts, when they will be at their nesting sites for breeding.

At first I never intended to publish this photo. I just wanted something that looked decent in 9:16 and was easy on the eyes for my second monitor. Now I ended up liking it so here's a regular aspect cropped version. It's suburban Amsterdam, and it had just started to rain.

Sorry for the long absence until now - I have had flu and just generally not been up to posting.
