N271AY, Airbus A330-323X, US Airways.

Fleet No: "271".

First flown with the Airbus test registration F-WWKN, this aircraft was delivered to US Airways as N671UW in Apr-00. It was re-registered N271AY in Aug-06.

US Airways was merged into American Airlines in Apr-15. The aircraft was withdrawn from service in Mar-20 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and stored at Roswell, NM, USA.

In late summer 2020 American made the decision to permanently retire the whole A330 fleet and it continued to be stored at Roswell.

The aircraft was sold to VAS Aero Services in Oct-22 for parting out and was subsequently broken up, date unknown.

After just under 4 years with the airline the aircraft moved to Delta Connection as 5Y-JAP in January 2007 before joining her final operator, Vision Air as AP-BKE in 2014 before being withdrawn from use in 2019 after 44 years of flying.

ON THIS DAY - 15-Sep-2015... Manchester Airport, 11 years ago!

OO-VLP, Fokker 50, Vizion Air (operated by VLM).

Vizion Air was a new(ish) Belgian Airline with 2 leased Fokker 50's, one operated by Denim Air and the other (this one) operated by VLM. It's further complicated because it was operating for UK regional airline FlyBe.

With additional titles on the right side, "The best vizion is insight".

First flown with the Fokker test registration PH-EXE, this aircraft was delivered to Aer Lingus Commuter as EI-FKF in Feb-91. It was transferred to Aer Lingus in Aug-98 and was stored at Woensdrecht, Netherlands in Apr-01.

It was sold to Denim Air as PH-DMS in Nov-03. The aircraft was wet-leased to Euro-Hopper between Jun/Dec-04, to Euro Manx between Dec-04/Feb-05 and to Euro-Hopper again between Aug/Oct-05.

In Jan-06 it was leased to VLM Vlaamse Luchttransport Maatschappij (VLM Airlines). The aircraft was sold to lessor in May-08, leased back to VLM and re-registered OO-VLP. It was operated for City Jet from Sep-09 and for Vision Air from Feb-15. It was stored at Saarbrucken, Germany in Jun-16 and returned to the lessor.

The aircraft was sold to Denim Air (again) in Sep-16 as PH-DMS and was due to be wet-leased to Sky Greenland. However, the lease was cancelled. It never entered service and remained stored at Saarbrucken.

In Apr-17 the aircraft was sold to Jetways Airlines (Kenya) as 5Y-JWX. It was wet-leased to Ocean Airlines (Somalia) in 2018 and returned to Jetways Airlines in 2021 when it was permanently retired at Nairobi-Wilson. Updated 11-May-24.
