Sometimes changing a weekend plan saves a lot of hassle a week down the line.
Yesterday our van fridge decided to blow a fuse… then another, and another. We were meant to be heading to Leeds for Keith to play in a rugby tournament, but instead we scrapped that plan and drove to Magnum Motorhomes in Grimsby.
Good job we did, because the fridge we nearly ordered from Amazon probably wouldn’t have worked with the way ours is fitted.
So, £439 later, a new fridge is in situ — and we’ll have cold milk and Guinness 0.0 for Shetland.

And just like that it's the 1st September, and the first day of meteorological Autumn. The month our Shetland trip starts and the month our Outer Hebrides series comes to an end. The first 8 months of 2026 have flown by!

Looking forward to our journey on the MV Hrossey in a couple of weeks. Anyone else sailed on this ship?
