Hi, I’m Will. For the past eight years my eye has been set down the view finder, capturing the world around us. I have always seen this world in a unique light, quite literally. Being born with Ambylopia (Lazy eye) and Deutranopia, it means that my brain only uses one eye, of which is colour blind. I wouldn’t say that I have struggled with this, i’m just aware that I see everything different. What

made me become a photographer when vision is quite clearly very important? I have a love for art, the outdoors, and being able to look back on those incredible moments. I refuse to let this condition control what I do with my life, and so far I think my work is pretty good. Good enough to get booked for events, and sell prints of my landscapes at least. It’s quite funny really, because it usually comes as a shock when I tell people, it’s quite the juxtaposition. But it works, I also have no idea what my images really look like! But as long as you like them, that’s all that matters.

Yayy, I finally got the shot on my third visit to the Isle of Skye. I must have got about 2 minutes of beautiful light and then the sun dipped behind the clouds again.

Persistence pays off, this is why you should always return to places you have already photographed. Treat the first trip as a scouting mission, then any after that is time to get ‘the shot’.

I can’t remember the first time I saw this lighthouse, but I knew I wanted to visit and get capture it at sunset. The first time I went, I never actually got to the location. The second time, the weather was horrendous and could hardly see anything at all. The third time, I set up my tripod just in time for the sun to poke through and give me the golden opportunity to get the image I dreamt of.

To my surprise, whilst walking down a road in Cumbria, I spotted a patch of bluebells protected by drystone walls. A lovely find.

Still one of my greatest memories from my photography career. Right at the start when I made that jump to become self employed, I was asked to ride one of the Hot Air balloons at Chatsworth House at the opening ceremony for the Country Fair. The cloud inversion was just the cherry on top!

I will always be very grateful of this opportunity and it wouldn’t have been possible without Pure Peak magazine who supported me right from the beginning.
