And another ! Not many DC-8 flying these days 55 years old ! 🫡

Sep 8th 2026 - News to hand that a cargo DC-8 has run off the runway today on landing at Kinshasa N'Djili (DR Congo). The Trans Air Cargo Service Douglas DC-8-73 freighter, registration 9S-AJO is likely written off despite being possibly one of the last DC-8 flying worldwide. No news of any injuries.

We think this was an original CF convertible freighter ex Douglas factory and built around 1969-1970 DC8 Serial 046133 Line Number 534. It was first delivered in March 1971 to World Airways, this well-traveled airframe has flown under numerous registries and colors for major freight and charter companies over its 55+ year lifespan
