.vidi in the Peak earlier this month.

It was a pleasure to spend a few days at the crag with Pietro during his short visit to the U.K. After meeting him in Chamonix earlier this summer it was exciting to get a text from him saying that he was coming over for a couple of weeks before heading to Yosemite.

It was a delight to watch someone climb these things with such ease and seemingly no fear of hitting the deck. So much ease it sometimes made it difficult to photograph so I was secretly pretty excited when he fell off the Groove a couple times… thanks mate!

Really excited to be organising but I’m also really looking forward to hosting one of the workshops next weekend too!

The workshop will be based around playing with creativity and developing a style and will be at Stanage on Saturday. We’re also super lucky that have sponsored the workshop so we will have loads of filters and adapters from them to have fun with!

There are still plenty of tickets available. For more info or if you have any questions just give me a message or find the link to our website in my bio.

Hope to see some of you there, should be good fun!

Incredibly excited to be running again for a second year on the 19-21st of September!

Been working really hard on this one alongside and to build on last years festival and make something exciting and interesting for as many people as possible.

It’s amazing to have on board this year as our main partner and to be working closely with and too.

The following slides are just some of the many things we have on offer including darkroom printing at Sheffield Hallam University, collage and Studio and Portraiture. On Friday night we will have a bit of a party to celebrate the start of the festival with music and a load of drinks. Saturday will be workshops all day and then an evening of talks in our main exhibition space at Kelham Studio.

Tickets are available through with some workshops having limited spaces.

Don’t miss out, it should be a good un!

No Place Like Home 2/3

Whilst filming for No Place Like Home the three of us agreed there’s a certain charm to the Lake District that is unlike anywhere else we’ve ever visited. We weren’t sure exactly what it was but that it felt special.

Jim and I were very lucky to spend much of our childhoods in the Lake District and for me it’s the place of all my earliest experiences of the outdoors.

The aim for the film and these images in particular was to encapsulate as much of that youthful excitement and passion for the outdoors as possible, which extended much further than the climbing itself.

Documenting this project was a joy and for a weekend it felt like being a child out in the fells again.

You can watch the film over on the YouTube channel.

Cloudgate

I remember the first time Jim described this perfect bean like blob of rock at Cratcliffe. He showed me a photograph of it stating that it was even more impressive in person and the photos didn’t do it justice.

Five years on I joined Jim and following a successful session the week before. The conditions were awful for him but for me and Sam the light was magical and we loved every second of it.

If you can I encourage you to go and see it for yourself because Jim was right. Even with amazing light the photos really still don’t do it justice!

I also encourage you to go and watch the beautiful short video of the first ascent 🎥
