I’ve been really enjoying trying out different sorts of photography to what I’m normally doing over the last couple of weeks with some sports and in this case wildlife. They’re both 2 areas of photography I’ve never done much with but I’m really interested in exploring them more over the next few months. Trying something new within something your already passionate about is a great way to keep learning and staying interested in it. There is always something new to learn. It’s not going to replace my usual stuff but it’s fun to chip away at occasionally. Will have a YouTube video all about this soon!

I don’t need any excuses for a day at the cricket but when free tickets are on offer it’s always a yes from me! 🏏
Lovely day watching a bit of Rothesay County Championship action down on the south coast for Sussex Cricket vs Somerset County Cricket Club despite a bit of gloomy weather 😍

Very tempted to get to a few more county championship games as it gets towards the end of the season. I’d love to start squeezing more sports photography in to what I do!

There is no such thing as bad photography conditions. Just a little reminder to all us photographers as we head into the weekend! Just go and try shooting something different to what you’re used to and don’t sit around waiting for the ‘perfect’ conditions and golden hours.

This new filter system from and has pretty much solved all the issues with using filters! They are so thin, and so quick easy to use and I love how you can pack them as is without a case. Been using these over the last few weeks and have loved them!

Sometimes you don’t need to look too far to find interesting photos. You can wander round streets, villages and still find things worth shooting. It’s not always about getting perfect images but just observing and finding compositions in tricky locations to keep improving your skills all the time. Just go out with a camera and enjoy photography for what it is.

I keep telling myself that one day I’ll stop taking photos of random stuff like this. Maybe. But then I remember. I’m realistically not going to… and I really don’t care! 😂
This is your reminder to take photos of whatever you want (within reason!). It doesn’t matter if the photos aren’t anything special, not every photo needs to be! Just find something that interests you and shoot it.
In this case what interested me was the bike placed neatly next to the bins, all neatly lined up, with some nice evening light hitting the side and the colour of the bins contrasting against the background. It also asks the question why are there bins right next to the edge of the canal. Again, nothing special. But it’s slightly interesting!
