We’ve spent the last week in Scotland at the US Kids Golf European Championship, supporting my little boy as he competed in the biggest competition with over 500 young golfers from all around the world.
The weather was absolutely incredible this year, a huge change from last year. It was scorching! How these children managed 18 holes a day practice round and 3 days of 18 holes in those temperatures, I’ll never know.
Kai finished in 18th place, shot 79, 80, 83 which we’re incredibly proud of. For a little boy who has struggled massively with confidence and focus is amazing. Golf is such a challenging sport, both physically and mentally, and at just 9 years old he’s still learning how to move on from a shot that doesn’t go to plan and refocus on the next one. It’s something many adults struggle with, so we know it will come with time and experience.
For now, we’re simply encouraging him to enjoy the sport he loves, keep learning and keep growing. Watching children work hard towards something they’re passionate about is always inspiring.
A week away, lots of family memories made, and now it’s back to the studio, replying to messages and getting ready to welcome lots of lovely families through my doors over the coming weeks. 📸 before his next big competition he’s qualified for
