Another example of shooting with no assisted lighting rig - straight from camera to edit from my Sony A7SIII

I bought this camera for capturing crisp shots in low lighting capabilities.

I’ve leaned heavily into shooting in the natural lighting of my bars so I capture the truest perspective, I rarely set up lighting rigs for staged shots aside from portrait shots…

Here I love how the colour palette almost blends, with silky lights being emphasised by the every day filter

About 2 years ago I switched to Sony for it’s low light capabilities for shooting content in my bars on the fly…

I moved to Sony A7SIII for both film and photography as a 2 in 1.

Bought myself a Tamron 28-75 1.8, and a SIRUI 85mm 1.4

This was shot with no backup lights, just in it’s natural environment in , with the 1/4 strength every day filter to give the lighting a bloom effect and a slightly smoked out filter.

It’s the perfect set up for low light, product and portrait shots

It’s been a minute…

I haven’t posted in a while since I wanted to start the year with 3 or 4 projects that I just kept low key and that presented some sort of challenges for myself.

If you don’t know me well, as soon as I see an opportunity, or a challenge, I go all in. I’m still a baby in this game so I wanted to get stuck into a few things that I knew would be an opportunity to explore new techniques.

In between that, my bar was voted into the top 10 bars in the official in the UK - and s**t just blew up and took up a lot of my time.

One of those projects was to create website content for the amazing . This included photos of their team, their beer collab with and some video content, interview style, introducing themselves and their reasons why they started SLT - turns out they were looking for all of that too, so we shot some cool stuff recently, and over the next few days I’ll share a couple of the results.

Here are their beers with Tiny Rebel:

What to expect when heading to , Pt.2:

We’re a small team over here at SiC and we’re incredibly passionate about a few things… Flavour exploration, hospitality, and hip hop. All 3 of those are put together in a way that comes so naturally to us, so what you’ll see is a team who have made a space that feels like a place to share experiences and maybe try something cool and new along the way.

Our menu is made entirely in house, from the home made ingredients that run through every cocktail on the menu, to even the design and photography. Everything that reaches your table has been put together lovingly by the hands of the team. Like this cocktail pictured here, think Gimlet with spices.

• Sundried Tomato washed London dry & navy strength gin blend
• Tea Lime Cordial
• Papa-DAMN

First, we fat wash our blend with sun dried tomato in oil by blast chilling, then separate the fats from liquid once the oil had solidified. Then for our Tea Lime cordial we blend lime juice, pink grapefruit, pink peppercorn, kaffir lime, coriander, bay leaf and turmeric with sugar and Malic acid. We then make a salsa with pineapple, red pepper, salt, fresh coriander and coconut yogurt, and dollop that on a mini papadam. (K-dot reference in the drink description for those who noticed 😉)

T I K I A S F U C K

Just finished up 2 days of shooting film and photography at and .

One of my favourite stills from the 2 days is this dude! Devon has been a patient guy listening to my instructions over the shoot and styling it all out with a little bit of flair.

Today we cored and bench pressed pineapples by fixing them to a mop handle. Yeah. It got a bit unusual. But hopefully it all comes together nicely in the promo videos.

Big thanks to the team for a cool couple of days.
