It has been a brilliant opportunity to be involved with the organisation of DARKNESS: A Photography Conference at the School of Digital Arts!
——
Over two days, the conference examined the significance of darkness, proposing to invert our thinking about photography and remind us of the image’s many entanglements and consequences, buried possibilities and repressed impulses. Drawing together artists, researchers, writers, curators, the conference made visible the many resonances of darkness as a necessary subject in approaching photography’s elaborate material, industrial, psychical and social roots and interconnections.
The conference was organised by .photography with an additional exhibition which showcased over 40 international works associated with Darkness - bringing together photographers, artists and SODA MA students.

TONIGHT!!! We welcome you to view our new photography exhibition “A CITY OF MUSIC #2” at the wonderful CIME at 189 Newland Avenue from 6pm. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with CIME on this, and fundraise for their activities.

TOMORROW! We launch new photography exhibition ‘Inspired By Prague’ , a love story between Jem Sutherland and the city of Prague!

MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY OPEN CALL - A City of Music #2

A CITY OF MUSIC #2 is the second run of a photography exhibition that celebrates the Hull music scene and the photographers who document it all, whilst fundraising for music charities and organisations in Hull.

We are inviting submissions from Hull based photographers, both emerging and established, for our next photography exhibition fundraiser.

A CITY OF MUSIC #2 will be hosted by Creative Infusions Music Education (CIME), Newland Avenue, which will launch on 26th September 2025.

Submit your favourite photo that celebrates or documents the city of Hull’s music, either past and present, for a chance to be featured!

FREE TO APPLY! All photos selected will be printed, installed and given a set price by our team, photos will be up for sale to fundraise a target of £500 for children's education at CIME.

Please only apply if you are happy with the fundraising nature of this exhibition.
