I typed “patterns” into my self-hosted photo archive and this is what came back.

One of the best things about running my own image library is being able to search through years of architectural, property and construction photography in ways that weren’t really possible before.

Not by folder name. Not by client. Just by visual ideas.

This little gallery is all about patterns: façades, windows, lines, textures and repeated shapes. Some of these are obvious. Some are almost abstract.

Can anyone recognise any of the buildings just from the patterns? 🧐

Also what should I type next to my shelf hosted Immich app?

Recently photographed this massive ground-up renovation by BAM. The building has been handed over, but internal work continues as the BBC gets ready to complete their fit-out. My brief was to document the glory of the building in its current "shell and core" state.

If you’ve known my work for a while, you know me for these Manchester cityscapes. Long exposures, cold nights on rooftops, and finding the perfect 'aerial' perspective of the city we call home.

But lately, I’ve been quiet with this kinda of content.

International Drone Day usually means celebrating the tech, but for me, it’s about what I want tech to unlock for me: Geographic Freedom.

I spent years as an immigrant building a life here, capturing the geometric lines of Manchester’s growth. But as my kid grows up, I’m losing this idea that I have to be physically bound to one city to build something meaningful.

Drones gave me my first taste of freedom, the ability to see above the walls we put up. Now, I'm using that same perspective to build a life that isn't tied to a postcode. Whether we stay in the UK or follow the river elsewhere, the goal is the same: To be present, to be free, and to never stop looking for those aerials in the sky.

Happy Drone Day to the Manchester creative bunch. Still flying, just looking at a much bigger map now.

Twilight always gives a property a different kind of presence.

This one was photographed for Tommy White at Park Road, Golborne, and it’s a good example of why I still think evening shoots can be worth it when the house and setting suit the light.
It’s not about making a property look unreal, just showing it at the point when it feels at its best.

A finished project always deserves a proper set of photographs.

This one was shot for BAM at North Lindsey College, documenting the completion with a mix of wider exteriors, clean architectural detail, and the smaller touches that help tell the full story of the build.

It’s easy to focus only on the big overview shots, but the close-ups matter just as much. Materials, junctions, finishes, signage, light, texture, all of that is part of how a project is experienced in real life.

That’s what I wanted this set to do. Not just show what was built, but show it properly.

If you need completion photography for education, commercial, or construction projects, drop me a message.

I’ve been near Liverpool a lot lately, and this time I finally stopped to shoot the skyline from across the water. The sunset was beautiful, so I got the drone up too and captured the city glowing in that golden evening light.

Stop shooting every room only at 14mm! Ultra-wide lenses map the floorplan, but they make high-end spaces look empty and CCTV like.

If you want a property to look expensive, intentional, and calm, shoot tighter. Telephoto lenses (50mm–200mm) do what wide angles can't:
▪️ Isolate the staging and lifestyle details
▪️ Highlight the actual finish and textures
▪️ Show lifestyle

This is why I run two camera bodies on every shoot, one for the layout, one for the details. You get a complete, premium gallery with variety for social media, without extending the time on site.
