The Bluebell fields at Rannerdale Knotts, Crummcok Water.
Looks like i was a week early. Next weekend the sun will come around the side of Mellbreak to cast some direct light just before sun set. While the lack of direct light was a touch disappointing, the sky lit up nicely.

I made the trip into Wales over the weekend to see the Mily Way core rising behind Dolbadarn Castle. The milky decided to be a bit photo shy and hid itself behind some Hazy high Cloud. I did put a light inside the castle and i'm quite happy with the results(i can't help thinking the presence of a damsel would just elevate this to a higher level though 🙃)
The first shot is single image 24mm, iso1600, f2.0, 15secs. You can see the cloud moving in with light from, i'm assuming Llandudno or Betws-y-coed reflecting off the clouds and obscuring my view of the Milky Way Core. The second image is the same shot and I replaced the sky with one I took at Flamborugh around the same time last year just to show what could have been. By Next weekend the moon will get in the way so - roll on Next Month and i'll see you at Raven Crag if you're coming.

I wanted to photograph the milky way rising behind Dolbadarn Castle however the hazy cloud in the south east had other ideas. While i was sitting on a cold stone wall siping coffee from my Ultimate flask, my phone started buzzing so i changed position facing north, set a timelapse going and for the next 1/2 hour the night sky gave me a consolation prize which, tbh i'll take as i can see the milk way again next month and it'll be warmer too.

A final drive through Glencoe on the way home and i just had to stop and take this final view of the Three Sisters. i think this would make an excellent night time shot on a clear night. Stars over the mountains and a car leaving a light trail into the distance.
Now, i would like you to please comment on which of these two images you prefer and why. One of them is a 14 shot panorama and the other is a single shot.

S Bends of the River Coe + the Three Sisters = Highland Magic!
What makes this spot so special is how naturally the landscape builds the composition for you. The S‑curve of the River Coe acts as a leading line, pulling the viewer’s eye straight through the frame and up toward the Three Sisters. It’s a perfect example of how shape and flow in a scene can do half the storytelling before you even press the shutter. showing off again. There was a bit of patience required as the peaks kept getting swallowed by the cloud dancing around them

On the way home we stoped at the picturesque town of Callander where lots of the places had signs in the window saying ‘closed until March’. I’ve decided that’s what happened here. The top of the Buckle has been put in a nice warm storage box with a pillow until March.

Something about how the light is hitting the statue combining with the low cloud and mist is creating a sense of unease for me in this photo.

The "Mirror Man" of Loch Earn, officially titled "Still," is a life-sized, mirrored stainless steel sculpture by Scottish artist Rob Mulholland, symbolizing the connection between humans and nature, and recently returned to Loch Earn near St. Fillans after an eight-year absence due to community fundraising. This iconic figure blends into the landscape by reflecting the surroundings, serving as a popular attraction and subject for photographers.
