Watch Photography with Kristian Dowling

Saturday 26 September | Leica Store Manchester
Limited to just 10 places

Join us for an intimate, hands-on workshop with photographer and Leica Watch specialist Kristian Dowling (kD.), exploring the art of watch and macro photography.

Using the Leica ZM1 and ZM2 as our subjects, Kristian will take us beneath the surface of the watches – exploring their mechanics, design and the special details that make them unique.

Then we’ll photograph them.

Kristian will show you what to look for and how to capture those details, exploring lighting, reflections, composition, perspective and focus along the way.

You’ll also be among the first to get hands-on with the new Leica SL3-P and APO-Macro-Summicron-SL 100 f/2 ASPH., putting the latest additions to the SL-System to work in a real macro photography setting.

Born in the field. Now a Leica icon.

The story of Leica’s Safari cameras stretches back more than 60 years.

It began in 1960 with the olive-green Leica M1, produced for the German armed forces. M3 and M4 cameras followed, built as robust photographic tools for use in the field, long before “Safari” became one of the most recognisable finishes in Leica history.

In 1977, the R3 Safari brought that distinctive olive green to Leica customers for the first time. Since then, it has appeared across generations including the M6 TTL, M8.2, M-P (Typ 240) and M10-P, becoming increasingly sought after by photographers and collectors alike.

Today, that lineage continues with the Leica M11-P Safari.

Finished in matte olive green with contrasting silver controls and the discreet design of the M11-P, it feels unmistakably modern while retaining a very clear connection to the cameras that came before it.

And for the full Safari treatment, Leica’s matching M lenses include the Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Safari pictured here, alongside the 35mm Summilux-M and 28mm Summicron-M Safari editions.

More than a colour. More than a special edition. A Leica tradition that began with cameras designed to work in the field.

Some things just belong on a Leica.

The KEKS light meters have landed at Leica Store Manchester and they might be one of the cleanest modern additions you can make to a classic M body.

Shown here:
• The beautifully minimal M-Meter mounted on the Leica M-A
• The KM-Q sitting perfectly on a black Leica M4

No apps. No distractions. Just a beautifully mechanical shooting experience with a little modern reassurance when the light gets tricky.

The KM-Q especially feels right at home on black chrome bodies — subtle, understated and properly period-correct in spirit.

Perfect for anyone shooting meterless M cameras who wants to keep the experience pure without sacrificing usability.

Available now in-store and online. Which combo are you choosing? 👀
