Weddings are meant to be fun, and your wedding photography should be too.

No more awkwardly staring at the camera and forgetting you have arms. No long portrait sessions keeping you away from your guests.

Keep it unserious.

Late(ish) night thoughts on AI.

Do I use AI? Yes. It’s hard to run a business on your own, so having another tool to make admin easier is invaluable.

Plus, it’s built into my photo editing software to help make my images more consistent and get rid of things like distracting fire exit signs* and that chin spot that appeared on your wedding morning.

But do I want it generating rubbish images from my work to sell you something fake? Absolutely not.

My photography is all about capturing what really happened and who you really are, not some creepy false version of you.

Plus, let’s be honest, they just look s**t. And I’m not about that.

If you never see my posts again, they found this reel 👀🕵️‍♀️

*Not this one. Obviously. That’s the joke.

The third wedding of last week was Neisha and Kamyar at the - a rustic country pub near Clitheroe.

This area is famously the inspiration for Middle Earth, with the Tolkein Trail running past the pub, and you could definitely feel that in the golden sun.

We made use of the green fields and enormous trees next to the pub for their portrait session, although that meant dodging rather a lot of cow 💩 to get there!

I think it was worth it for this dreamy portrait, with Neisha's veil and hair jewellery and Kami's green suit giving just a nod to the Lord of the Rings heritage of the area.

This was an extra special day for me, because Neisha is actually my step-sister! Coupled with my husband .weddings on video, it was a real family affair.

I've got a little break now before my June weddings, but that doesn't mean a rest! I'm back to my sports photography roots this week, just to keep things fresh. Plus finishing up some wedding galleries and learning some new colour grading skills to up my editing game!

I’ve just sent off the sneak peeks for my third wedding this week, but let’s rewind to Saturday.

(Is Throwback Thursday still a thing? Is this far enough to be considered a throwback?) Anyway…

Laura and Bill did the legals at Manchester Registry Office, before heading to for their reception. It’s too far to walk, even without a heatwave, so there was only one thing for it.

The iconic yellow Metrolink tram.

As soon as they told me their transport plan, I knew I wanted a slow shutter shot of them on the platform. It was a dash to get up there as a tram was leaving, but I don’t think this shot could be more perfectly timed - the doors lining up behind them and the breeze gently rustling Laura’s stunning flowers from .

They definitely turned heads on their short trip across Manchester, and the number of well-wishers en route was adorable.

I’m going to be obsessed with these photos for a long time.

You don’t need to be told that this weekend has been a scorcher! What a way to jump back into wedding season, with not one but TWO amazing days in the sun.

First up were Amy and Will with their low key wedding Stafford wedding.

I’ll share more of their thoughtful DIY day (including all their flowers from MOB Patti!), but here’s this bright and beautiful confetti shot to start with.

I’ve spent the whole weekend shooting and editing, so I’m off for an Aperol Spritz in the sun, before we do it all again on Wednesday. 🍹

Roll for initiative.

When we did their pre-wedding shoot, Ellie and Adam told me all about their love for Dungeons and Dragons. Fast forward to their wedding day, and they’d decided to include a few nods to their hobby.

We kept it simple, using just a few dice and mini figurines in their photos.

You can go all in on including your hobbies on the day, or just keep it as a private moment for yourselves.

And hope you roll a nat 20 for happily ever after 😉

First looks - are they just a weird American trend?

I’ve always thought that they were an unnecessary part of the day, but Amy and Kat have proved me wrong with theirs.

They’d already done the legals, and I was there to photograph their reception. They got ready together, but wanted a first look together after doing the finishing touches alone.

It was just as emotional as any aisle walk, and a beautiful private moment before meeting with their families.

If your day is breaking traditions or following a different timeline, a first look might be right for you.

I’ve known Sarah for nearly ten years, we actually played roller derby together in the Good Old Days. Then life did its usual thing, and we drifted in different directions.

Fast forward to summer 2025, and she’s back in my inbox asking me to photograph her wedding. Not just that, she went all in and booked the full package, including a pre-wedding shoot. Bookings are always exciting, but ones that come from people who’ve known you that long feel truly special.

Since Sarah and her partner Tino now have a toddler, we turned their couple shoot into a bit of a hybrid, part pre-wedding, part family session. Unsurprisingly, that brought a very fun kind of chaos into the mix.

Strong winds, incoming rain, and the attention span of a two-year-old meant we had to keep moving. We kept it simple and leaned into the wildness of the moors and the moody skies. A bit of guidance here and there, but mostly giving them space to interact as a family and just be themselves.

The shoot was technically about Sarah and Tino, but I think we all know who the real main character was.

It’s been really nice doing this for an old friend, and finding our way back into each other’s lives again. Also, Tino has been handing out some very solid running advice to me and .videography, so that’s an added bonus.

Can’t wait for their wedding this summer!
