WHAT TIME SHALL I GET INTO MY DRESS? 🤍
This is something I get asked all the time, and my answer is always: earlier than you think!
Getting into a wedding dress nearly always takes longer than you expect. There are buttons, hooks, corsets, sleeves, shoes, jewellery, veils… plus the inevitable moment where somebody suddenly can’t find something. 😂
And once you’re dressed, you might want to do a bridesmaid reveal, a first look with your dad, or have a few lovely photos with the people who’ve been with you all morning. Those moments can take a little time to organise too, especially when everyone is scattered around different rooms!
If you want beautiful, relaxed bridal portraits like these, you need to build that time into your morning rather than squeezing them into the final five minutes before you leave.
Ideally, I’d like you completely dressed and ready around 45–60 minutes before you need to leave for the ceremony, or before the ceremony starts if you’re getting ready at the venue.
I’ll also usually need to leave you at least 20 minutes before the ceremony so I can get into the ceremony room, photograph it before everyone sits down, catch the groom and groomsmen, and photograph guests arriving.
If you only step into your dress 10 minutes before you’re due to leave, there simply won’t be time for those gorgeous bridal portraits, dress reveals and relaxed moments beforehand.
So when we plan your wedding morning, we work backwards from the ceremony time and give everything much more time than you think it’ll need. You’ll never regret being ready early. 🤍
