We had the most awful weekend.😪 I'll tell you straight away that he's fine now and home being his usual spaniel self but Saturday night I thought we were going to lose Logan and my heart was absolutely breaking.

What started as a lovely Saturday at Clumber Park, our first true day off together in months, ended with me leaving Logan at the emergency vets with all the symptoms of blue-Green algae poisoning. Absolutely terrifying walking out of the room thinking I might never see him again.

Thank goodness it seems like it was just something he ingested and that he perked up overnight with just fluids and medication because this boy means everything to me, I don't know what I'd do without him.

Some dogs charge straight in. Floki stood there working out whether the bubble was food, a threat, or something to be deeply suspicious of.

That's the thing about this session. You never know which dog you're going to get until the bubbles are actually in the room. Bouncy ones go quiet. Nervous ones surprise you. It's never the reaction you plan for.

Janine wasn't sure what to expect when I asked about a session with her new puppy Reggie. She'd never really thought about professional photos of her dogs before.

Then came bubble time. Reggie wasn't sure at first. Didn't take him long to find his feet, and then he was jumping to eat every single bubble that came near him.

Here's what Janine said after:

"Everything was at Reggie's pace, it was calm, fun and playful. He really enjoyed himself and he loves Serena. I love the bubble photos, some are fun, some are sweet, but most of all it shows how much fun Reggie had."

This is the bit people don't expect going in. It's not about getting the perfect sit and stay. It's about waiting for the moment your dog actually is themselves.

Every dog has a person who's going to see this and think "that's exactly what mine would do."

Maybe it's the one who face plants into everything. The one who can't sit still for a photo to save their life. The one who'd try to eat the camera.
