Local elections are not looking good, though UKIP are losing seats, silver lining eh. Remember, politics can be tedious, hand painted bass guitars are sexy. Pic by Dan Richmond of Ferocious Photography.

To all the poets and guest speakers, I promise that I did listen to every single one of you who was there and I liked and found each topic you discussed interesting. Around this time last year, I attended an event at Old School House Venue, Barnsley for the May Day Festival of Solidarity. Since then, the occasion has evolved into a two-day event, featuring the likes of The Men They Couldn't Hang and Steve Mason headlining both dates. Once again, I'm going to be back this year and I'm taking my camera with me and I'm going to capture the day, like I did last year!

So, if you fancy having a look, I've shared my photos from last year. Expect more of this over the next couple of days. I'll share my photos from this weekend when I can. I'll see everyone who's going to be there in a few hours 😊

05/05/16 - May Day Festival of Solidarity

Comrades, here's a collection of all the photos I took at the May Day Festival of Solidarity which took place in at the Barnsley Rock & Blues Venue / Polishclub Barnsley. In this album, we have photos of: Joe Solo, Grace Petrie, Lizzie Nunnery & Vidar Norheim, Headsticks, Serious Sam Barrett/YaDig? Records, The Wakes, Alun Parry, Quiet Loner, The Hurriers, Phil 'Swil' Odgers, Steve White & The Protest Family and Attila the Stockbroker!

Sorry to the other artists and speakers who I didn't upload any photos of into this album. I was most likely too busy watching/listening to take photos. Regardless, I hope you like the photos I did include as I was more selective than usual when I was going through my photos and kept my editing to a minimum! Finally, thank you for getting my page to hit 100 likes today, it means a lot :)

Hey guys, today I've got something exciting which I can finally share with you all. I know I haven't posted anything in a while but today, on the day of Jonny Wallis Music's EP launch, I finally received a copy of the CD. 🎉

So, what's so special about this CD? In case you can't tell... the picture on the front cover is actually MINE!!! That's right! If you pick up one of his CDs, you'll see I'm actually credited on the back-hand sleeve! Exciting times. 😁

Getting to see one of my photos on an actual physical product is amazing, however I don't want to take away from what the product actually is. Although I can't say I've actually listened to the EP yet as I just wanted to post about is ASAP, I have seen Jonny perform many of times; solo and with the likes of Brian Stone Music (The Fox and The Pirate). This fella has just gotten better and better after every performance. I first came across him when he performed in the trio 3 Eyed Fox and at first, he used to primarily play covers of the Levellers, New Model Army, The Waterboys and more. Now that was great, however I'm glad to see that he's finally gone down the route of writing his own songs. All of which, when I've heard him perform then live, have been great! 😉

So, if you want to check out Jonny's new EP (if you haven't already), here is the link: https://jonnywallis.bandcamp.com/releases

The album officially comes out on 01/04/17 so you can preorder the physical CD for £6 or get a digital copy for £5. From my personal experiences and actually getting to watch him perform live, I can highly recommend you give it a listen! 👍🏻

So, if you haven't became aquatinted with him, check out his page 'JonnyWallisMusic' (linked above!) 😊

20/12/16 - Buffalo Skinners & Ramble Gamble @ Café INDIEpendent

Before I went to Dogfest last weekend, I was actually at a gig that Thursday in my hometown of Scunthorpe at what it undoubtedly my favourite venue in the town (sorry Lincoln Imp & Baths Hall!).

That night I got to watch Ramble Gamble, a gypsy-esque band whom are also from Scunthorpe and The Buffalo Skinners, who are a band which I don't quite know how to describe. Both of these bands can be summed up by their aesthetic and they both made for a good night's worth of music. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and would recommend you also catch them live when you can. They were both on tour but I don't know if that's come to an end now!

Hope you like the photos :)

19/12/16 - DOGFEST PART II

Two Dogfests in one year, you can't really ask for more can you! Despite how great part 1's line-up was, I think they outdid themselves this time with the running order. Although there were some unfortunate drop-outs (Rev Hammer, Jimbob and Abdoujaparov) they still made it up with the replacements :) I can't say there wasn't any band I didn't enjoy this year and that's always a bonus :D

So, here's my photos from last weekend. I had my camera with me on the Friday before Dogfest but I chose to just sit back and enjoy myself that night. Also apologies to any of the bands I didn't take photos of! I was most likely too busy listening to you guys on stage (especially if I hadn't come across you before). That or I was too busy dancing along, like in the case of 3 Daft Monkeys!

Nonetheless, here's my photos of: The Outlines, Skaciety, Maelor Hughes Music, Under A Banner, Funke and the Two Tone Baby, Dirty Vertebrae, The Lagan, Graham Parker, Simon Friend (The Levellers) and Dan Booth (Ferocious Dog).

Hope you like them, personally I think they're better than the ones I took earlier this year! :)

18/12/2016

Starting on pictures tonight, I'll have all my Dogfest pictures up for tomorrow! :D

Before we get to the photos, let's upload a video I recorded yesterday first!
