So here is a focus stack I recently finished. Made from 10 or so images stacked in Photoshop and edited in Lightroom as usual. Really pleased with the result.

Swipe right for a close cropped view of its head where you can see the detail in the compound eyes and the rest of its terrifying face!

Beautifully stunning and vibrant Damselfly here. I have been really loving how many there are in this nature reserve, they are spectacular and I think the sheer volume of insect life there is a credit to management of the reserve.

Found a couple of interesting looking flies uhh, coupling, in what strikes me as a very precarious location. At their scale the thorns around them appear enormous.

Some dew drops in nature today! From an early morning walk a while ago I actually forgot to upload these and I love the pastel green and purple tones on the growing plants!

Found this fascinating little specimen on a recent walk in a local nature reserve. I believe it to be a male Yellow Dung Fly, Scathophaga stercoraria. These are predatory flies, hunting down smaller insects. They do also feed on nectar which is what I found it doing.
