When you are photographer but dreaming about being like John Wick đŸ”„

If you’re already doomscrolling
this is probably a better use of your time.

I’ve just published a new blog from Katie & Will’s wedding, and honestly, this one deserves more than being squeezed into a few seconds on Instagram.

The photos are full of people, movement, ridiculous smiles, proper emotion and that kind of wedding energy you don’t really explain. You just look at it and think, “yeah, they had a bloody good day.”

So if Instagram is about to feed you another seven seconds of pure brainrot, you might as well look at two people having one of the best days of their lives.

The full story is now live on my website.

I’ll leave the link below if you’re curious to see it.

You already know photography matters.

You know it’s the one thing that actually brings you back to the people, the moments, the whole day.

You also know roughly what it costs.

And somehow
that’s exactly where the “maybe it’ll be fine” idea shows up.

Because it feels like something you can get away with. Like it’s not that complicated, like someone cheaper could probably do something similar, like it’s just taking photos at the end of the day.

So you take the risk.

And yeah
it doesn’t really work like that.

Not because of luck, not because of one bad decision, but because the difference only shows up after it’s all over.

And by then, there’s nothing to go back to.

But hey
at least the “sushi was cheaper” 😅

Didn’t expect to be floated like this

Yesterday got a bit out of hand in a good way. Phone going off all day, messages coming in from everywhere, some quick, some longer, some from people I haven’t heard from in a while.

I’ve seen them all.

And yeah, I appreciate it. Not in a big dramatic way, just genuinely nice that people took a moment out of their day to say something.

So this is me saying thank you, properly 🙏

The wedding industry made this way more complicated than it needs to be.

At some point it stopped being about the day and started being about choices, and not always the ones that actually matter.

What begins as a simple idea somehow turns into comparing options, replying to emails, going back and forth on details that didn’t even cross your mind at the start. Before you know it, you’re trying to get everything “right” instead of just letting it be yours.

And the truth is, none of that is what makes a wedding feel good.

The weddings that stay with you are usually the ones where people stop chasing perfect and just lean into what’s happening around them. They’re present, they’re relaxed, they’re actually in it instead of managing it.

Because no one remembers how well things were organised on paper.

They remember how it felt.

And that part was never supposed to be complicated.

If you’ve already had your wedding or you’re in the middle of planning one, tell me honestly
did it ever start to feel a bit overwhelming?

Not trying to sell you anything here, just curious.

Things I would never charge for as a wedding photographer

There are a few things that, to me, should never sit behind a paywall.

Not because they’re “extras”
but because they’re just part of doing this job properly.

💡 Extra photos
I always know the minimum I’ll deliver, but if there are more good moments from your day, you’re getting them. No hidden gallery, no “upgrade to unlock”.

💡 Extra time
I don’t disappear the second the clock hits a certain hour. If something runs late or something unexpected happens, I stay and capture it.

💡 Extra calls
I don’t jump on calls to sell you anything. If you need another chat to feel sure or just want to talk things through, we do it.

💡 Planning advice
If you’re figuring things out and don’t want to ask your friends for the tenth time, I’ve got you. Tips, ideas, random advice
 all part of it.

💡 Travel
Doesn’t matter if it’s 5 minutes away or somewhere that needs snacks and a full tank. I just show up.

Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about photos.

It’s about working with someone you actually trust and feel comfortable around.

The photos matter.
But the experience of getting them matters just as much.

Two years in
and still going strong like it’s day one đŸ”„

Freddie & Hugo, I still remember the way your wedding felt. Not just how it looked, but that energy you brought into the day, the kind that doesn’t need forcing because it’s just there đŸ’«

And honestly, it’s the same kind of energy you hope lasts way beyond the wedding itself.

Two years later
 looks like it did ❀

You’ve built something that clearly isn’t slowing down, and that’s what this is really about. Not just one day, not just one celebration, but everything that comes after it.

So here’s to you both, still showing up, still choosing each other, still doing it your way đŸ„‚

Happy anniversary guys 🎉 keep going exactly like this 🚀

This venue makes your job way too easy

I’ve worked at Primrose Hill Farm multiple times now, and every time I come back here, I’m reminded why couples choose this place.

It’s not just about how it looks, although that part speaks for itself. It’s about how everything runs behind the scenes and how much pressure it takes off the couple on the day.

When people choose a place like this, they’re not just picking a backdrop. They want peace instead of problems, they want to feel taken care of, and they want to know that whatever happens, it’s handled.

At Primrose Hill Farm, “we’ll try” isn’t a thing. Neither is “it should be fine” or “let’s see how it goes”. Things are handled properly, and that’s what gives couples real peace of mind.

From my side as a photographer, it makes a massive difference. I’m not working around problems or chasing the timeline, I’m just there capturing what’s already happening.

And then there’s the light, which is something you can’t fake. I’ve worked here multiple times now, and for some reason the light just hits differently. It’s soft when it needs to be, clean when it matters, and consistent throughout the day.

That’s why photos from this place always come out strong.

Not because of tricks, but because everything is already working in your favour before you even press the shutter.

Cutting prep photos to save money might cost you more than you think

On paper it makes sense. You look at the timeline and think, “nothing really happens in the morning anyway”, so why not save a bit of that budget and start later.

But that’s usually where the story actually begins.

Preparations are never just sitting in a chair while someone does your makeup. It’s the mix of chaos and emotion that slowly builds up to everything that comes later.

People walking in and out. Conversations happening at the same time. Someone laughing in one corner while someone else is quietly taking it all in.

And then there are moments you don’t plan for.

A parent looking at you with that quiet kind of pride before everything starts. A small pause when it suddenly hits you what’s about to happen.

Those things don’t come back later in the day.

You get the nervous energy, the excitement, the small moments that don’t feel big at the time but end up meaning a lot when you look back.

That’s what these photos are about.

They’re not there to look perfect, they’re there to take you back.

Because years from now, you won’t care about how “neat” that moment looked. You’ll care about how it felt.

And that’s exactly what happens in the morning.
