Cake smashes will never not be fun 😍

Mums and dads with little ones approaching their first birthday… this one’s for you! 🎂

If you’re starting to think about your little one’s first birthday (how is that even possible already?! 😭), I thought I’d share a little peek at some of the cake smash themes I’ve created recently!

I absolutely LOVE doing cake smashes, and after many, many years of photographing them, I’ve got a pretty good idea of what works - from choosing a theme that suits your little one, to knowing how to encourage those gorgeous smiles, curious expressions and, of course, maximum cake-mess! 😂📸

When you book with me, we’ll chat through exactly what you’re looking for and choose a theme together. It can be something simple, colourful, completely bespoke or even based around the theme you’re planning for their birthday party.

And one of my favourite options is matching the cake smash to their party theme, because I can often create a balloon garland that you can take home afterwards and use for their actual birthday celebrations! 🎈🥳

Every baby is different - some absolutely LOVE getting stuck into the cake, while others need a little time (or a few tricks 😉) to warm up to the idea. That's where years of experience really come in handy!

So one more sleep until lots of these little ones start off on their next big adventure! Time for me to start labelling up clothes - not that it makes a blind bit of difference! I just know by the end of the week the lovely new jumper will be swapped out for a dodgy one, the water bottle will be no more and don’t even get me started on swim goggles 😆
