My last Cwm Idwal workshop for 2026 is this coming Sunday (20th September) and there are still a couple of places available. Join a small group of like-minded people enjoying a day in the stunning mountain surroundings of Eryri (Snowdonia) whilst improving their camera and landscape photography skills.

Back home in North Wales after a great week of hiking the Lake District mountains around Buttermere. This year I'm having a full week in Eryri Snowdonia in autumn conditions so just looking through a few past photos for ideas.

Rather than just leave everything to chance I do like to have an idea of where my best chances are of catching good sunrise or sunset light so I do some trip planning using the fantastic software "The Photographers Ephemeris" , the new 3D mapping is especially useful... Check it out if you haven't already.
