At the time, I didnt even realise that this had gone in! I thought it had hit the outside of the post 🤣 It wasnt until I looked at the Lancashire Sunday League website that I saw the final score was 6-2, not 6-1! Thought I was going mad!🤣

It was actually a reallt good finish into the top corner! It was only a consolation for Wyresdale Rangers, and straight after the goal, the referee blew his whistle for full time.

Once he was away, there was no catching him!

He beats the goalkeeper well, and finishes off with a cheeky backheal into the empty net as Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs go 6-1 ahead against Wyresdale Rangers.

This was a superb team goal! The initial crossfield pass is excellent, so is the dummy, the first time cross is quality and the finish is even better!

This goal pretty much encapsulates Sunday League Football! The rain is pouring down, the defenders don't really defend, and the finish isnt the best, but still beats the goalkeeper 🤣

But thats why we love Sunday League! Its not supposed to be the Premier League.

You've got to feel for the goalkeeper here!

The rain is hammering down, and the freekick is delivered perfectly into the penalty area.

The goalkeeper had it covered until the header at the last second glanced the ball into the net!

3-1 to Southport & Ainsdale in the Sunday Lancashire League.
