SOMETHING EXCITING COULD BE COMING TO THE WEAVING SHED ⚡️🏭

We’re thinking about opening the historic weaving shed at Woodend Mill for a series of unique fundraising events to help restore this incredible space… and we want to start with a bang.
Imagine this:

A Day Rave beneath the iconic North Lights.
Four hours of music, atmosphere, dancing, BBQ food and drinks inside one of Mossley’s most extraordinary industrial spaces.
No late nights.
No lost Sundays.
Just an unforgettable afternoon helping bring the weaving shed back to life.

The Plan:
📍 The Weaving Shed, Woodend Mill
🕒 Saturday afternoon (approx. 3pm–7pm)
🎫 Tickets: £20 (food and drinks not included)
🍔 BBQ and refreshments available throughout the event
Before we commit to DJs, licensing and production…
We want to know:
If we build it, will you come?

Drop a YES in the comments if you’d grab a ticket, and let us know what music you’d want to hear.
House?
Anthems?
Disco?
Northern Soul?
Something else entirely?

And please share this post with anyone who would love this sort of event.

Woodend Summer Solstice - A Day of Light, Movement & Connection

Join us at Woodend Mill for a beautifully held Summer Solstice — a day of movement, stillness, sound and connection, set within the mill’s hidden green space.

Step out of the everyday and into something slower, more grounded, and shared. From welcoming the morning light to gently closing the day with rhythm and sound, this is an opportunity to pause, reconnect, and be part of something meaningful.

Whether you join us for a single session or spend the whole day with us, you will be part of a unique moment in a place that is being brought back to life.

All proceeds support the restoration of the historic Weaving Shed at Woodend Mill.

Spaces are limited to keep the experience intimate.

ABOUT WOODEND MILL
Woodend Mill is home to a growing community of artists, makers and independent practitioners.
This event is part of a wider effort to restore the historic Weaving Shed — transforming it into a permanent space for creativity, heritage and community activity.
By attending, you are directly supporting that vision.

Throughout the day you will experience the wonder of Woodend Mill, the place so many of us choose to base our practice. From the forest, to the river, and the hand industrial landscape to the calm green spaces, Woodend Mill is the perfect backdrop to celebrate where we live and the midsummer solstice.

LOOKING AHEAD
If the day resonates with you, we will be gathering again for the Autumn Equinox in September.
Guests on the day will have early access to tickets.

Mossley is a town built on textiles.

Even if we never worked in a mill ourselves, those buildings, those rhythms, and those working lives shaped this town, our families, and our sense of who we are.
We are here tonight because those stories — the very fabric of our community — are at risk of being forgotten.

Have you heard the news...Mossley SOUP is back...We are so excited to have the opportunity to pitch at this iconic event and we hope if you are visiting you will vote for our wonderful new project, 'Threads Make Stories...A Community Quilt'

Even if you are not able to make it to Mossley SOUP you can read all about how to get involved in making a community quilt or the wider restoration of the weaving shed project. This is going to be wonderful and you are welcome to be part of it. https://www.threadandbutter.org/whats-on

THREAD & BUTTER COLLECTIVE CIC...We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes and we’re finally ready to share what we’re building for our community.

Thread + Butter Collective CIC is a group of local creatives based at Woodend Studios and we are working to restore the disused weaving shed and turn it into a welcoming place for making, learning, exhibitions and community life. A space rooted in Mossley’s textile past and open to its creative future.
