I "shoot" and "capture" beautiful creatures - with my cameras. Based in South Wales and widely covering UK, occasionally outside UK too. I am Karen and I specialise in equine, pet, wildlife, landscape & nature photography, but I enjoy photographing anything that captures my eye and imagination along the way! The majority of images on this page are my work, but I coach a few young novice photographers so you will find some of their work as trainees here too. I am taking part in the Butterfly Conservation Big Butterfly Count. I am going to try doing my Butterfly count a bit later today, I have been staggering the times to see if it makes any difference to the number and variety of Butterflies in the garden, and it does seem as if there are a few more at the later times than earlier - although I am delighted that every day my gardens are now attracting plenty of beautiful Butterflies. So I have been working on the photo's that I started working on days ago - only with over 400 to begin with it meant a lot of weeding out those that are no good, resizing them for facebook and putting two logo's on so I can use one set on this page and the other set on my Butterfly page, which is very time consuming. Then it came to uploading them - nope, facebook will not allow that many photo's in one album - initially I was hoping to do several days at a time rather than upload every day, but the only way I can do it is either upload an album a day, or several albums every few days. So today I will be uploading several albums covering July 13th to July 18th. July 19th to July 21st are still on my camera so will be the next batch edited and uploaded, I haven't been outside yet today to take any. This was a photo project leading up to and to include the Butterfly Count season which this year runs from July 17th to August 8th. I might continue until the season ends but will also be doing a couple of my road trips as well. I don't usually get to take part in the Butterfly Count as usually I hardly ever had any Butterflies in my gardens to count and can't always go anywhere - but this year is amazing and the gardens are bringing them in every day, I love it! x
