Ending your bank holiday with a cuteness overload!!

I just encountered this baby Badger on the local lanes. It had a near miss with a couple of cars, so I escorted it off the road to safety. Hopefully the rest of its family was not far away!

With the fundraising total currently standing at an incredible £3,500(!!). This is just a quick message to say that I will be closing the fundraising page for my '1,000,000 Steps In April' challenge in the coming days. So if you have not donated and wish to do so, there is still time!

JustGiving take an admin fee of approximately 3% of the donations raised. So as a thank you to all those who have donated, I am going to match 3% of the total donations myself. This means that as good as 100% of your donations will be going to Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru!!

Thank you all so much!!

Our little shrine to Sir David Attenborough.

Wishing a very happy 100th birthday to the legend that is. If ever there was a human being deserving of a century innings, it is him.

An inspiration to us all.

You know it has been too long since you last used your sea kayak when a family of Voles are living under it!

Walking 1,000,000 steps in April for Welsh wildlife.

I did this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

Now I have had some time to recover, I have put together a little highlights reel from the challenge.

Lots and lots of wonderful Welsh wildlife.

I hope you have enjoyed following along with the journey. I have certainly appreciated having you here!

This will be one of my last pushes for donations, before I close the fundraising page. Thank you everyone who has already donated, I owe you all a drink!!

Day One of walking 0 steps in May for Welsh wildlife.

I am doing this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

Only joking! Although the idea is a very tempting one! I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated in the last 24hrs (and before that as well). The fundraising total has really shot up! I will leave the fundraising page open for another week or so.

I am currently working on some highlight videos from the challenge, so watch this space.

Day Thirty of walking 1,000,000 steps in April for Welsh wildlife.

I am doing this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

And with that, 1,000,000 steps have been walked in April!!

It has felt like the longest month of my life. My body aches, but my spirits are so high!

Thank you all so much for the continued support throughout this challenge! I really could not have done it without you all.

I will post some more about the challenge and the finish in the coming days. If anyone has any questions about the challenge, send them to me and I can put together a little Q&A video.

The fundraising has been fantastic and we are currently only £7 away from reaching £3,000 raised. I will the fundraising page up for another week or so.

Thank you again!

Day Twenty-nine of walking 1,000,000 steps in April for Welsh wildlife.

I am doing this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

The penultimate day. A good one with plenty of steps.

And with that, I hobble into the final day!

Thank you all for support throughout. It has been key to keeping me going.

Day Twenty-eight of walking 1,000,000 steps in April for Welsh wildlife.

I am doing this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

I do not know why the video has saved so small. These videos take up so much time, even the short ones and I just do not have the energy to make another one to see if I can get it full sized. So mini video it is!

Not much to share beyond the step progress anyway.

Two days and 53,000 steps to go!

Day Twenty-seven of walking 1,000,000 steps in April for Welsh wildlife.

I am doing this to raise money for Welsh Ornithological Society and Wild Cymru.

This was the day that breaks the back of what is left to walk. My biggest day of the challenge yet. 55,000 steps.

It was a lovely day to be out walking. I headed along the coast path to Aberaeron and then inland towards Llanerchaeron and back again. Then walked into New Quay and back in the evening.

This now leaves me needing an average of approximately 26,660 steps a day for the remaining three days. That is such an exciting prospect!!
