After long conversations with a range of child model agencies, it appears that child modelling is something to get into BUT, you have to be able to travel and attend shoots at short notice.

Their advice across the board is create a small portfolio of 3-4 pictures in certain poses and then send these to the modelling agencies direct.

So I'm offering small mini-shoots to help anyone who is still interested, including 3-4 images processed in a format complete and ready to send.

If your interested, then let me know so we can get something booked in ASAP to catch the Autumn/Winter catalog shoots. £69 complete.

I have spoken to a few more agencies and they are looking at February for the new season selection images, so I may run a few days where you can bring in your child for two headshots and two full-length shots to comply with their requirements. They cannot guarantee any work, so don’t be disappointed if you don't hear from them immediately if often takes a while to get them on the circuit.

Wow, a bigger response than I anticipated.... Here are some guidelines from agencies I have spoken with today. I am also in contact with an agency in Nottinghamshire, but as of yet, they have not responded further to my correspondence.

CHILD MODELS

Applications for Child Applications usually reopen in February 2020, for further information do not hesitate to contact your photographer for details.

To apply on behalf of your child, can you please ask your photographer to send 2 headshots and 2 full-length images per child, your child's D.O.B and a daytime contact number.

Important factors to consider before applying -

The agencies represent on a non-sole basis and only a set number of children per age group/gender. It is important to read the information below before making the decision to apply.

Model Agencies cover the whole of the UK, however, the majority of castings/bookings for children could take place in London and surrounding areas. In the Midlands, we mainly shoot in the Manchester area.

Bookings will always be with advance notice due to the licences that need to be granted; however, castings can be with as little as 24 hours notice.

We can only accept those who are seriously willing/able to travel. If you work full time, please consider who will be able to chaperone your child to castings/bookings and if they would be happy to do this on a regular basis.

Some bookings will be during school time - If you are not happy for your child to absent from school then this industry is probably not right for you.

Babies and toddlers should be calm and relaxed in front of the camera.

Children should be polite, well behaved, confident and enjoy the process of castings/bookings, so work with your photographer to educate them for modelling use.

Because of the lovely children, we had yet again, I'm looking to work with some agencies to get them into PAID modelling. It could be clothes shoot for Next, or a simple shoot for a poster for a Bank etc.... If you're interested in getting involved, then let me know, and I'll start to get a portfolio of images you can use to get your child registered with a top agency. I already have a few of you interested.
