Got a few new followers to the page & just wanted to share something a little different.
I know many of you will have seen this portrait. It was one of my first studio portraits in the first year of my degree and reached the final 4 images of the British Photography awards 2020.
I wanted to share some behind the scenes photos. The portrait took 4 sittings from start to finish. Jenny, who sat for the portrait was so patient and was perfect for the image, simply titled Boleyn.

I’m currently working on a project exploring family photography as a form of art.

We often call these images “snapshots”…
but the meaning that stayed with me wasn’t sentimental — it was this:

A snapshot is a read-only, state-frozen moment in time.

And maybe that’s exactly what family photographs are —
moments we can return to, but never change

I don’t photograph many weddings.
Not because I don’t enjoy them… but because I see them a little differently.

In between everything else — the noise, the rush, the moments you can’t control —
there’s sometimes a chance to pause.

To create something a little more considered.

The bride and groom asked for something with a slightly cinematic feel…
and these are two of the images we made together.

It’s a direction I’ve been quietly exploring —
somewhere between portraiture and storytelling.

Not traditional wedding photography.
Something else.
