Some weddings just hit different…

After everything life had thrown at Phoebe & Johnathan, finally getting to watch these two say I do — surrounded by the people who had cheered them on every step of the way — was pretty bloody special. 🥹

Then, naturally, they escaped for a 20-minute victory lap in a row boat. Because why have an ordinary wedding when you can row off into the sunset like absolute legends? 🚣‍♀️✨

One year on, and this one still hits different and think always will- what a blessing to have been in the orbit

LOVE ON THE LINE! 🚇

Rebecca & Patrick’s wedding had everything.

⚽️ Match day antics ✔️
💒 A church ✔️
🚇 A wedding party taking over the Metro ✔️
📢A congratulatory announcement over the service because apparently the whole of Tyne & Wear needed to know they’d got married 😂
🎷An EPIC entrance to Local Hero on sax through a sea of Toon flags 🖤🤍
And… deep breath… the occasional sprinkling of red and white. ❤️🤍

Look, nobody’s perfect. 😂 (jokes folks)

There were unreal donuts courtesy of Rae Ellen 🍩 and a whole lot of people absolutely HELL BENT on having the best time possible.

This was a marathon of a wedding day, but the best kind. Full of brilliant people, big laughs, questionable decisions and enough football rivalry to make the Tyne-Wear derby look like a quiet Sunday afternoon!

The evening involved class music, interesting dance moves and scenes that definitely deserve their own post… 👀💃🕺

A wedding with absolutely no points dropped. No VAR controversy. And despite the red and white… a cracking result all round. 😂 (again bants)

Congratulations our modern day Romeo & Juliet, from two sides of the Tyne but united in luuuurve!

If you find someone who giggles at your giggles and embraces the fun side of life do NOT let them go.
Billy and Anna have this and it was a treat to fan the flames of silliness!
With Hallington Mill Holiday Homes & Wedding Venue. as their playground they married in the woods (the wonderful team at Northumberland Registrars doing the honors), went wild with their bridal party across the field and smooched gleefully under twinkley lights - what more would you want?

When a couple just radiate joy!
Vicky & Kris stuffed The Parlour At Blagdon with gorgeous people, fun vibes and laughed their way through their wedding celebrations!
They brought a rainbow of colour to the proceedings and I was in me element! One of those days you’re not at work you’re at play!

WATERWORKS 🥹

Yasmin is cone ADORED lady - she had both her Dad and her Groom in floods at first sight of her in her wedding dress. We love a public display of emotion if its heart felt and Jamie’s pride and admiration of his stunning bride was a beautiful thing to watch and capture.

A year later, a lot may have changed, life with a baba and sleepless nights but I hope your smitten looks at one enough and love remains just the same.

HELLO 40 🎂

Scheduled this post for my Birthday eve and I’m feeling reflective (natural right?)
Honestly, my 30s were a pretty f**king brilliant decade.

Some amazing sprogs fell out and made life way more chaotic fun but Somewhere along the way I figured out what makes me happiest professionally - celebrating life & people!

Their quirks. Their weirdness. Their love. Their joy. The belly laughs, the chaos, the ridiculous moments and all the bits that make them completely, unapologetically themselves.

And I think that’s why I love what I do so much.

I get to spend my days encouraging people to forget what they think they’re supposed to look like, act like or do… and just bloody enjoy themselves.

So if my 40s are about doing more of that?

I’m IN.

More fun.
More colour.
More big belly laughs.
More celebrating people.
More making memories that actually feel like you.

And apparently… more cake smashing. 😂

Here’s to the next decade.

TRUST 🫶🏻

Something I’ll never take for granted is the trust couples put in me, and how much they let me into their stories.

I know I’ve found my purpose in creating a space where couples can actually relax, be themselves, have a bloody good time and have their love documented in a way that feels like them.

A year since I said goodbye to O&M on a very sunny day in the shadow of Bamburgh Castle. 🏰

Two days of freedom, fun and getting to celebrate exactly how they wanted to before heading back to the US. No pretending, no performing, no trying to make their wedding fit someone else’s idea of what it should look like. Just them, doing it their way.

And honestly, that’s the good stuff.

O&M, I hope you’re both still as smitten as you were inside the walls of your castle, M. 😂 (The in-joke had to make an appearance.)

Happy first anniversary, you two. 🥂🌈

🍒 CHERIE & MATTY 🎸

Some weddings just feel like a deep exhale.
Matt & Cherie’s day was one of them.

With Shotton Grange as the backdrop and the sun fully on our side, they said “I do” beneath blue skies before spending the rest of the day exactly as they’d imagined it… no rush, no fuss, just soaking up every second.

Kids ran wild across the lawns. Guests settled into the gardens with cocktails, cold beers and lawn games. There was laughter drifting through the sunshine and that unmistakable feeling that nobody wanted the day to end.

The details told their story beautifully too. Romantic song lyrics tucked throughout the day, little nods to the music they love, an epic record player cake celebrating the proposal that started it all (bravo Sticky Sponge Cake Studio ) … and the sweetest little cherries nestled into Cherie’s incredible pink bouquet (the flowers unmistakably Love Fiona Rose 🍒)

They both looked the business - Matt looked super cool in his summer suit (his son matched, it was insanely cute!) and Cherie arrived in that jaw-dropping flapper-inspired pink dress! 😍 It was playful, bold, completely unexpected and so ridiculously her (round of applause bexbrides /eclecticbrides alternative / boho wedding dresses brief nailed)

Proof that the best weddings aren’t about cramming loads in! But simply creating a day that feels completely, unapologetically yours. ✨

Extra thanks Shotton Grange Weddings & Events crew for looking after everyone (and me) so well x
