Finally finished! 🌿✨
I started this piece back in the summer, inspired by my garden and all the tiny worlds that seem to exist between the flowers.
The garden came first… but for a long time I couldn’t figure out who actually lived there. I kept wondering what kind of faeries or little creatures belonged amongst all those leaves and petals. Eventually these tiny characters began to appear, and suddenly the world started to have its own story.
Colour was another challenge. If you scroll to the last image, you’ll see the original artwork — it was very red! ❤️🌺 I loved the energy, but altogether it felt a little overwhelming and I knew I needed to find a better balance.
Luckily, Procreate came to the rescue. I was able to experiment without losing the original painting, bringing in cooler blues and softer tones until everything finally felt more harmonious.
It took quite a few twists and turns to get here, but I think that’s part of what I love about creating — sometimes you have to live with a piece for a while before it tells you what it needs.
And now my little garden world finally has its inhabitants. 🌸🐛✨
