And what a belter to begin with!

Martin and Emily blew me away with their extra special sizzling love story. Hot footing from Plymouth they eloped to the castle in the dunes for their secret wedding this week. I don’t think I have met a couple with such clear magnetism before, and so grateful to have found each other. All of us who witnessed their ceremony had the biggest hugest smiles for their joy. It’s why I love these tiny weddings, as there is no distraction from the love.

Some weddings get lucky with light.
Some don’t.

That’s the truth.

You can’t schedule a perfect sunset. You can’t order golden haze on demand. And you definitely can’t build your whole wedding vision around something that might not show up.

I love beautiful light. Of course I do.
But I don’t chase it like it’s the only thing that matters.

If it’s there, we’ll use it.
If it’s not, we’ll make something honest instead.

The best photos don’t happen because the sky behaved.
They happen because you were present. Because you held each other properly. Because you forgot I was even there.

PLEASE DON’T PLAN YOUR DAY ABOUT SOMETHING THAT MIGHT NOT HAPPEN

Plan it around how you want to feel.

If we get the sunset? Amazing.
If we don’t? It was never the point anyway.

Last year was quieter than I expected.

Not dramatic. Not catastrophic. Just quieter.

And if I’m honest, that stirred up a few uncomfortable questions. When you’ve photographed weddings for years, it’s easy to measure yourself by how full the diary looks.

But space can be useful. And it did mean something.

It meant I was booking the weddings with the couples who were truly right for me.

The thoughtful ones. The grounded ones. The ones who care more about atmosphere and connection than performance.

That space reminded me that I don’t want to photograph as many weddings as possible. I want to photograph the right ones.

The quietly cinematic days. The grown up love stories. The moments that feel like real life, just elevated.

So this year I am continuing in that direction. Fewer weddings, more intention. And I still have a few limited key dates available for 2026.
