Still going strong at the age of 23, the ridiculously handsome Big Buck's needs no introduction to followers of the jumps. However, it's worth remembering here his extraordinary sequence of 18 consecutive wins, including a record 4 Stayers' (World) Hurdle victories at Cheltenham.

Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Anapurna, Oaks winner and descendant of the brilliant foundation mare, One In A Million - two of the brightest stars in the past and present of Meon Valley Stud. Her portrait shown here is part of my painting commissioned by the stud, with Speedy Boarding and Izzi Top at either side of Anapurna.

It was a great honour to paint Anapurna and her companions for Meon valley stud, and I wish them continued success on the racecourse, the stud and in the sales ring. Happy Birthday to the wonderful Lord Erskine, now entering his eleventh season on the racecourse under the expert care of a yard that clearly understands him very well and cares deeply about him. His career highlight is possibly winning at the Dublin Racing Festival two years ago, at the age of 11 – a truly exceptional achievement.

I was honoured to be asked by his trainer, Harry Rogers, to paint Lord Erskine (together with stablemate, Benkei), and it was a great pleasure to meet everyone at the yard.
