Before Christmas I shot residents and staff of Ysbryd Y Mor residential home in Sandfield, Port Talbot. The residents shared their stories with a writer from the Open University and then I designed and published a book called 'Atgofion'. I had a blast chatting to and photographing them all... you're only as old as you feel indeed!

Every sitter had a double page spread with 5 portraits and their story. Here's a selection of the portraits... more to follow

Feranmia (on insta) wanted to treat herself to a photoshoot for her 18th birthday. She'd never modelled before but arrived looking fabulous. She wanted to look every inch the glamorous cover model and (stating the bleedin' obvious) she totally nailed it, with her proud mum looking on. Shot at my in Newport.

Feranmi said "Thank you so much for today, I had such a great time at the shoot and you made me feel really comfortable. The photos are amazing,I love it!"

Why not treat yourself to a glam shoot? Get in touch.

What a great evening last night celebrating 185 years since the chartist uprising. Total respect for for organising the torchlit march and gig at the corn exchange. Here's a slightly hungover rough edit bird's eye view of the torchlit march down Stow Hill.

. A busy schedule meant applying half the posters last week and hoping the rain wouldn't affect the work before the planned finish day... Where we planned to also seal the work. Unfortunately the rain had other ideas and thanks to I got a heads up this afternoon that a few of the posters were peeling. Bad timing as off sick today, but thanks to brother Gaw we've just been down to fix it.

No gutter or lip on roof means rivers of water run right down the wall. D'oh! Going to choreograph an anti rain dance now.

have asked about the process, so here it is. First I scheduled two drop-in photoshoots at to get the portraits, plus a couple of smaller shoots at my studio for a couple of stragglers. The images were then edited in Lightroom and Photoshop, cutting out the black and white portraits to place everyone on a colourful background, with a few extra layers of text and texture.

A0 Printing was from the awesome in Newport.

This style of art is usually called 'Wheat Paste Art', where the paste is made up of flour and water with a 4-1 solution. However, after making up a gallon of this when we got to the wall we discovered that the wheat paste at 4-1 wasn't sticking at all. We increased the mix to 2 parts water to 1 part flour, then 1 part water to 1 part flower, none of which would adhere to the funky textured wall surface. I'd tried this method successfully on regular render, wood and painted surfaces with no problem. The wall must have been painted with gluten intolerant paint!

So, plan B was good old wallpaper paste, which worked a treat - we mixed it with a little less water than required to get a thick enough paste to fill all the gaps in the textured wall. We cover the wall with paste, then apply the poster, then cover the poster with paste and smooth down using various squeegies and our hands. Wrinkles appear on drying, but that's part of the charm of this method - it aint perfect!
