Thought I’d give the new Lucky 200 a try the other evening and I have to say, I’m quite impressed with it.

These shots were taken on Towan Beach as the sun was going down, all on my Canon AE-1 Program in manual mode. The colours are quite different to ColourPlus and it’s definitely got its own look.For a budget film, I think it’s done a pretty good job. No, it’s not Portra, but your bank account won’t need a lie down afterwards either.The best bit? It’s the same price as ColourPlus here at the lab, so if you fancy trying something a little different, why not give it a go?

Popped out last night to finally try out 400D, all shot on a Canon AE-1 Program. I’ve been meaning to give this film a proper go for a while now and finally got the chance to load a roll up and head out with the camera. Really impressed with the results.

The Canon AE-1 Program is always a pleasure to use and paired with 400D it made for a great combination. There’s something special about heading out with a film camera, taking your time and not knowing exactly what you’re going to get these are a few of my favourites from the roll.

If you’d like to give it a go yourself, we keep CineStill 400D in stock here at Proper Photography Kernow and you can grab a roll at a proper price. As always, same day colour film development and scanning is available as standard, so you won’t be waiting long to see your results.

We’re Proper Photography Kernow, an independent film lab based right in the heart of Newquay using professional Noritsu equipment throughout the lab for proper high quality results.

We run a Noritsu HS-1800 scanner which is widely regarded as one of the best scanners for professional film work, giving clean detailed scans with beautiful true-to-film colours and loads of room for editing.

As standard we offer same day colour development on both 35mm and 120 film at no extra cost because personally I hate waiting weeks for film back 😅

We genuinely love the scanners we use every day, they just get the best out of your film.

Every roll that comes in gets handled properly, developed, checked over, and scanned so your images come out clean, natural, and true to how you shot them.

You get a solid file you can keep as it is or use however you like.

Everything goes through our Noritsu setup so it all stays consistent and true to your film every time. That includes proper black and white scans for black and white film, not colour conversions.

Whether it’s your first roll or you shoot all the time, you’ll get the same high quality every time.

Also we do same day colour development as standard so no waiting for your film (if you bring your film in by 4:00)

Exciting news ! We’re now going to be staying open a bit later on Wednesdays, keeping the lab open until 6:30pm. It’s ideal if you can’t get in during our normal hours because of work, or even just when town gets really busy during the summer and it’s a bit mad to get about.

We are currently holding a very large number of negatives and prints here at the lab, and we’ve now reached the point where we’re at full capacity for storage.

As much as we always try to hold onto everything for as long as possible, we do have a policy of keeping negatives for up to 4 months. We completely understand that life gets busy and it’s easy to forget to collect, and we genuinely don’t like having to dispose of anyone’s work, but due to the amount we now have stored, we will soon need to begin shredding any negatives older than this to make space.

If you’ve had film developed with us over the past few months and haven’t yet collected your negatives, we’d really appreciate you popping in to pick them up as soon as you can.

With prints, we will be going through everything we currently have stored and contacting customers directly via text or email to arrange collection.

We really appreciate your understanding on this. Keeping on top of collections helps us massively with space and allows us to continue offering the service we do day to day.

Tried out the new Harman switch Azure film and I’m honestly loving the look. It’s really different to anything else, colours come out in a proper unique way. I shot this roll at ISO 100 and it handled it beautifully.

Would be really interesting to see how it looks pushed to ISO 200 as well.

Everything is done in house by me from start to finish, developing, scanning and printing. No outsourcing, no shortcuts, just proper lab work done right here in Newquay It’s just me behind the scenes, so if anything ever looks different or not quite how you expected, please just drop me a message or pop into the lab. I’m always happy to tweak things and improve where I can

Raffle giveaway to our amazing followers and supporters of our lab.
