A proper 10/10 sunset perch. 🌅
This clip takes me back to an evening at Dunseverick on the Causeway Coastal Route. Stephen and I grabbed a spot right at the water’s edge and watched the sun disappear beyond the horizon.
Sometimes the best part of any adventure isn’t the miles covered or the summit reached. It’s simply sitting still for a while and taking it all in.

The Causeway Coast never disappoints when it comes to sunsets.

Where’s your favourite spot to watch the day come to an end?

⚠️ Controversial opinion…

Slieve Donard is the highest mountain in the Mournes and undoubtedly one of the most iconic summits in Northern Ireland.

But if I’m being honest, I don’t think it even makes my personal top 10 Mourne walks.

I know that sounds crazy given its status, but there’s something about it that has never fully grabbed me. The summit is always an achievement, and the views are fantastic, but I’d happily choose a number of other Mourne routes ahead of it.

Maybe it’s because some of the other mountains feel more rugged, quieter and adventurous.

So now I’m curious…

Is there a mountain, walk or hiking route that everyone else loves but you just don’t connect with?

Let’s hear your controversial hiking opinions 👇

“Name a better starting point. I’ll wait…”

Saturday’s hike started at Belfast Castle and took us onto some fantastic trails around Cave Hill.

Good company, plenty of miles in the legs, and another great day spent outdoors.

Where did your last hike take you?

Most people think motivation comes first.

In reality, it often shows up after you take the first step.

This photo was taken during a sunrise hike in the Mourne Mountains. Nothing dramatic, just a quiet morning, fresh air, and a reminder that getting outside doesn’t have to be complicated.

You don’t need to climb a mountain. A walk around the block, a local park, or twenty minutes away from a screen can be enough to reset your mind and change the direction of your day.

The hardest part is usually starting.

What’s one small thing you could do outdoors this week?

The alarm went off at 1:30AM.

A few hours later, Stephen and I were sitting on top of Cavehill watching the sun rise over Belfast with fresh baps cooking for breakfast.

It’s amazing how different a place feels when you have it almost entirely to yourself.

The early starts never get easier, but mornings like this always remind me why they’re worth it.

Would you get up at 1:30AM for a sunrise breakfast on a mountain?

An early start yesterday morning on Cavehill.

This photo was taken around 3:30am as we looked back over Belfast. The city lights were lighting up the sky while the rest of the city slept below.

It’s amazing how different familiar places feel in the early hours. The trails are quiet, the air is fresh, and you get a sense of calm that’s hard to find during the day.

Moments like these remind me why we love getting outdoors. Sometimes all it takes is an early alarm and a willingness to step into the darkness to experience something special.

Have you ever been out hiking before sunrise?

🌅 Belfast Has Never Looked Like This!

We set the alarm early this morning and headed up Cavehill before sunrise. Standing on the summit as the first light broke over Belfast was a reminder that some of the best moments happen when most people are still in bed.

The colours in the sky, the peaceful atmosphere, and the view across the city made the early start more than worthwhile.
