Jane doesn't even live locally anymore and still makes the trip all the way up from down south to get her hair done. We miss having her around and hearing all her stories, but we're very grateful she still trusts us with her hair.

That face when it’s bank holiday and you’re not back in work until Tuesday 😌

Cheeky Sophie looking unreal with that hair… and no, I can’t even take credit for the colour — annoyingly natural.

Meanwhile I’ll be celebrating Paisley turning 13🎉🎉🎉 (THIRTEEN?!)… so if you see me at the fair surrounded by teenagers, come and join me with a doughnut. 🍩

✨ ONE YEAR OF THE SALON • FIVE YEARS SELF-EMPLOYED ✨

Today feels extra special.
My salon turns 1, and I’m celebrating 5 years of being self-employed — something I once wasn’t sure I’d ever be brave enough to do.

Doing all this as a single parent has been… a journey.
There’s no guidebook, no magic formula. Just hard work, hope, and the constant battle of trying to keep the work–life balance steady enough to silence the mum-guilt.

And let’s be real — this year has added some extra weight, helped me grow my hair out of pure neglect, and revealed that I have the best support circle of friends, even though I am the absolute worst at replying to texts.
If you’re in my life, thank you for loving me despite my unread-message count.

A big thank you to Vicky, () who actually chooses to work alongside the madness and listen to my chaos.

And of course, this year has reminded me of the biggest “why” behind everything I do: Paisley Mabel.
My drive, my heart, the most understanding kid… and the girl with zero interest in taking over the family business (keeping me grounded daily 😂).
Thank you for being the reason I push so hard.

If this year has taught me anything, it’s this:
Being a single parent doesn’t stop you from building your dreams — it just means you build them with grit, late nights, early mornings, and a whole lot of heart.
