Lola T70 MK.II Spyder

This spyder sports car is built on an aluminium monocoque chassis.
These MK.II cars preceded the Lola MK.6.

These sports prototype cars began being built in 1965, featuring a Hewland LG500 4-speed manual transmission, which was later replaced by the Hewland LG600 4/5-speed.
Often powered by V8 engines (Later reduced to just 3ltr engines by the FIA in 1968).

Their competitive history is something not to be sniffed at, with 232 wins, 348 podiums and an astonishing 91 poles!

For something of this age, you have to admit it still has a presence about it.

This was photographed at Brands Hatch at the Brands Britannia event.
Also, if you fancy buying the car, it is for sale 👀

Absolutely ridiculous from the BARC.
To ban Ryan from attending and supporting another team/one of his sponsors, is just an utter mockery to the sport.
It's getting way out of hand now and to be perfectly honest, Ryan and the team have been really calm, open and honest online about what's going on.
I guess all the fans and supporters will be banned next for hurty words? 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Needs to be looked at and sorted out because I can tell you now, this keeps up and you're going to lose sponsors, fans and general interest in the racing series.
Every action has a reaction.

I strongly urge the British Automobile Racing Club, Motorsports UK, British Truck Racing Championship and Pembrey circuit to reconsider this and come together with better action and support.

This is beyond racing now , as your aware we was meant to go and support Neil Yates at Pembrey at 9.30pm last night we received this, we are lost for words and devastated 😓

This is a living for us not a hobby.

This is not right.

Crown Point Depot open day, by Greater Anglia.

Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for making the depot open day happen!
It was truly an experience to be able to get around the depot and see firsthand what goes on with GA fleet servicing.

Freightliner Group Ltd were in attendance with 90007 (former Greater Anglia loco)
Whilst Colas Rail UK brought 37175 & 56051, proving to be fan favourites throughout the day! (I mean, who doesn't love a grid and/or a tractor!).

It was also pretty sweet to see Railway Support Services Ltd there with their DAF Trucks UK impressive truck, as well as two class 08 shunters on display!

Showcasing some of the powerful locos used on the UK networks hauling freight on a daily basis, whilst we could also see the passenger fleet now operated by Greater Anglia with their class 745/755 trains from Stadler.

Another great addition I wasn't expecting to see, was the North Norfolk Railway PLC 0-6-0ST 'Wissington'. Which looked immaculate, let alone letting off that glorious smell from a steam locomotive!

A huge thanks also to the stall holders who were able to attend and showcase heritage railways or selling models to the public.
It all comes together quite nicely!

Whilst the weather was hit and miss for the entire day, we got lucky in the afternoon with some kind of sunshine!
Overall a grand time was had, and a real eye opener into the operations of Greater Anglia with their modern fleet of trains.

May 25th 2026 - Brands Britannia

A prestigious event held at Brands Hatch circuit in Kent, celebrating the rich automotive history of Great Britain.
From cars out on the track, racing away, to show cars on display for all to see.

Arriva UK Bus were at the event as well, with 5 service vehicles and a preserved vehicle, part of The Southern Counties Preserved Collection.

For a vast majority of the day, the team had their vehicles on display before being allowed out on track for the parade lap with other motorists.
It was quite the spectacle, to say the least, seeing the single-deckers out on track (in fact, the only bus company in attendance to go out on track at the end of the day).

We were also granted permission for a brief photoshoot after the parade laps were completed, to which we cannot thank the events team at Brands Hatch enough!

The Ancient Kingdom
Saturday 22nd August 2026

Taking full advantage of a long midsummer day we venture north to the Kingdom of Northumbria. We have three very different options for you to choose from – the wonderful Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the delightfully quaint Heatherslaw Light Railway or a visit to picturesque Alnwick. Join the train at London King's Cross, Potters Bar, Stevenage, Peterborough or Doncaster.

This tour offers predominantly First Class Dining accomodation, which is of course brought to you by Graham and Julie Osborne and their team at The Railway Diners. There is also First Class Non Dining and Standard Class accomodation available, onboard our comfortable Mk3 carriages from our friends at Eastern Rail Services.

This tour is operated with thanks to GB Railfreight

Day 4 of The Manx Man from UK Railtours

Today would consist of a bit of a later start to the day for silver group, from which we would have a tour of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway stables and also a horse tram ride! (fantastic I have to say and it was great chatting with the young lady on the tram).

After our horse tram ride, we had a choice to either go back on the Manx Electric tram or take the bus put on for us to Groudle station.
Once we convened here, we would make the short walk to the Groudle Glen Railway.
A short ride from Lhen Coan station to Sea Lion Rocks, taking in some spectacular views along the route!
Once we arrived at the Sea Lion Rocks station and café, we would have around an hour before the train back.

So I took a little trip down the cliffs to see some of the views, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.
Learning of the history of Sea Lion Rocks, was quite something in itself.
Once we left on the train back to Lhen Coan station, we'd make our short walk back to Groudle Station.

The Manx Electric Tramway would take us onwards to Ramsey, which I have to say, was sensational! The views we had of the sea, little villages, and just nature throughout, it honestly was breathtaking! Albeit a little chilly.
Upon arriving into Ramsey, we would take the short walk to Ramsey Pier Railway (The Queens Pier).
Once again, learning of the great history and the ongoing restoration project that's taking place.
We even noticed more RNLI exercises taking place at sea.
Once back at Ramsey, we would take the tram all the way back to Douglas, enjoying those miraculous views once more.

Overall, a fun filled day with the weather on our side once again.

Genuinely great meeting the people of The Isle of Man, as well as seeing our customers happy and enjoying themselves.
